Btr215,
Finding a good pastor is hard, but I would keep trying. If they judge you, it says more about them than it does you. God came for the sinners, not the righteous. I would just move on. You will eventually find one, but in the meantime, watching Billy Graham's sermons might be a good idea.

But be wary of false preachers.
I've been to all kinds of churches. I've been to a Pentecostal church where the daughter of the minister claimed the only way you could go to heaven was to be baptised through their baptism tub. I've met a communist preacher who claimed Jesus was a communist, I went to church where they only talked about Christian paintings. They didn't talk about the bible at all; I've been to a church where they preach materialism. saying 'Wouldn't you rather have a pair of high-heeled shoes rather than help the poor, ' I've been to a church where the preacher says he finds it easier to pray while walking around the church. I've been to a church where the youth pastor said that Adam and Eve were stupid; I've been to a church where the youth pastors were unqualified to teach anyone. I've been to a church where the pastor said he could make the words of God small so he could change them at will. I've been to a church where they talk more about death more than life. I've been to some churches that talk about how stinky lambs are, and one particular church in Pullman, Washington, was the worst with a false teacher named Donny who preached outwrite blasphemies.

Be careful that the church you choose preaches the true gospel. Another suggestion is to avoid Reformed churches altogether. Godspeed.

Pastor sounds like a wolf.
This is not a Holy Spirit driven church. The fact you feel like it's a competition while the rest are set aside is something cults will do.A lot of people are people pleasers so they will fall in line trying to get in with the pastor. To him he's the head of the church, and not God.
He's a wolf,a false teacher.
God's true church is built on the foundation of love. His is the opposite of what love is.That's the proof in the pudding.
He's feeding his followers leaven bread, and in the end unless they quit eating what he offers they're on the path straight to hell. You are what you eat.
That's a Babylon church.A satanic church.
I'm not gonna sugar coat it.

Welcome to the Christian Chat.
I have been in your shoes before. I'm sure our reasons aren't identical, but in hindsight, I will offer the following brief things I'd do if I could reclaim those years.

A. Write down certain fundamentals that are non-negotiable.

B. Leave and avoid every pastor who do not clearly and boldly stand on those fundamentals.

C. Beg/ plead with God for direction finding the best Church in my area.

D. Read multiple chapters of the Bible every day, starting with the first thing in the morning. This is how and where the Lord speaks to us 99% of the time. He may guide through circumstances, but He won't speak audibly to repeat everything that is already written down in the KJ BIBLE. Many young believers get the idea that God speaks and says "such and such" because they hear that claim from the pulpits. Those preachers do not get transported in spirit like John to write another book of Revelation. They are misleading us when they claim Divine conversations.
How do I know? Because the Bible mentioned that multiple times and promises curses upon those who add to His written Word.

Secondly, those pastors that add to the Bible are not >Saved, but proud.<
They teach falso gospels that add to what Jesus already did with their own boasts.

E. If you aren't 100% sure, you can get that assurance after agreeing with the Lord's promises and Sacrifice for >You! 📖🙂👍

Welcome brother. I would leave that church. Theres lot of false teachers today. Money, prestige or ego is usually there motives. Prophet Hosea tells us, stay away from Beth aven. Traditions of men or fairy tales are taught there. If you can't study on your own. Seek out wise person to study with, my advice. Your spiritual growth is absolutely essential. And there are few false brethren on this forum, be on guard. And some good shepherds. Take care.
