No one should be surprised (but I was) at the fall of Syria. It's been many years since I read Amos, so I forgot about the prophecies regarding Syria. Amos said, among other things:
The ruler of Syria would be cut off
Damascus would be invaded
Gaza would be destroyed
The leader of Gaza would be cut off.

There is much more, including why God judged Syria and Gaza. You may want to read Amos 1 yourselves.

Israel has shown wisdom by destroying all the Syrian military hardware they could find. The terrorists who took over Syria won't be using against Israel or giving it to Hezbollah. The USA could learn something from this. USA left vast amounts of military hardware in Afghanistan. The Taliban has used it to enforce their evil regime on Afghans. Add this to the absurd release of billions of dollars to Iran, and I have to wonder what on earth is the matter with America's leaders.

Nevertheless, God is in control and has demonstrated this yet again. His word cannot fail. What He has promised, He will do.

It's a really a tragic thing for Syrian Christians. Assad protected them from the Islamists, but now the entirety of Syria will be subject to sharia law and unceasing violence between the numerous jihadi groups, ISIS, Al Qaeda (HTS), etc

The mysterious ways of God, God remains God, the most high God and we the people try to be god's. Are only in the image, yet not God the most high, Father God waiting patiently for the next person to step in by the grace of Son given us Thanks

All of this are fulfilled prophecies showing the end is coming people can deny it if they wish but it is playing out right before our eyes
