This was addressed to the Israelites here who were under the law of Moses. Sabbaths was not the only thing mentioned in these verses. The Israelites here despised God's judgments and walked not in His statutes and went after idols. Pollution g God's sabbaths was not the only problem here.

Turning keeping the weekly sabbath day into a legalistic prescription for salvation under the new covenant for the body of Christ when the body of Christ under the new covenant was never commanded to keep the sabbath day (Colossians 2:16-17) is turning the sabbath into an idol.
Obedience is not legalism. Idolatry is placing anything before God, which is the first commandment. You do agree with the first commandment?

An idol?

The Apostles and Jesus must have forgotten that.

Too bad Revelation escapes anti- Sabbitarians.

Too bad also they discriminate in the sin of bigotry thinking Christians who keep God's gift are Israelites.

They also obviously never read Paul's Epistles.

Legalism is not obedience. Of course I agree with the 1st commandment and let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

If we all agreed to keep the Sabbath commandment I am sure this post wouldn’t be on 215 pages.
Once again, People disagree with your interpretation. Not that’s we should not rest.

So there is lots of opposition about God’s Sabbath. The argument the Sabbath is for Jews, but in the same breath it was edited to mean something else or the Sabbath ended at the cross or now at the destruction of Jerusalem despite Jesus saying it would be kept there Mat 24:20. Sounds to me, the main argument here is is to get rid of it according to God’s commandment, which is the only way one should keep.
No there is not. There is argument against YOU.

You can;t even get this right, why should we listen to you for anything else?

Obedience in order to get saved or keep salvation is legalism.

Obedience out of love expecting nothing in return is not legalism

If keeping the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment is legalism and idolatry then how would Sunday worship or worship any other day make a person Holy?

How about the second?
  1. You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

I see where this is going so I will cut to the chase.

Since the old covenant has been made obsolete, does this leave us with no moral direction? Absolutely not. God made the old covenant obsolete to legally put into place the new covenant. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9; Hebrews 8:6-13)

The life of discipleship flows out of the new command, to love one another as He loved us (John 13:34), and the apostle Paul says that by bearing one another's burdens, we fulfill "law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2) So, love fulfills the law (Romans 13:8-10) and out of this single command comes other commands, including references for the moral aspect of 9 of the 10 commandments which are reiterated under the new covenant, written in our heart, yet the command to keep the sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the new covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 2:7; James 5:12
4. Keep the sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9 10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

The moral aspect of the law is written on our hearts. Jesus Christ is our "sabbatismos" rest (Hebrews 4:9) "in contrast with keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law" and the law on our heart and mind is the love of the Spirit, not the letter of the law. This is why Paul tells us that the new covenant is a covenant of the Spirit, and not of the letter. (2 Corinthians 3:6-9).

Sundays don't make anyone holy. Neither do Saturdays

Can you reconcile these statements with these verses quoting Jesus:
[Mat 5:17-20 KJV] 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Yes, I can and have, but you folks never listen and just move on to the next talking point. And round and round and round it goes

It’s legalism when you do it to gain something. Like say salvation.

If you’re not obeying in order to get something, ie no strings attached. Then your obeying out of Love and gratitude,

huge difference

When you understand what "fulfill" means, you'll stop arguing about it.

When you have paid the final payment on your mortgage, it is "fulfilled" and nothing further is owed. So too, nothing further is owed by Christians to the Law because Jesus fulfilled it. He didn't destroy or abolish it; rather, He completed it, rendering it obsolete for the believer.

Every single "sabbath keeper", "tither", "Judaizer", "modern-day Pharisee" and every other kind of legalist is effectively saying to Jesus, "Your sacrifice was insufficient."

Ah,I see.

Jesus sinned. As did his Apostles.

OK.

Thanks.
Exodus 31:16-17
So the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations
as a permanent covenant. It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord
made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.

You must be in covenant with God to obey the Mosaic law.

You cannot just pick a commandment and try and obey that commandment.

The sabbath was given only to Israel as a sign and within a covenant.

If anyone tells you that you must obey the sabbath day tell them your a Gentile.

Gentiles were never in covenant with God to obey the Mosaic law.

So the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations as a permanent covenant
