Actually I do both gardening and 'full blown' farming. I love the idea of producing my own foods. And my aim is to go into farming on a very large scale. I would really love to make food affordable for people or if possible FREE

Seems to me like the easiest way to do that would be to start growing an orchard. Trees take little maintenance and grow fruit. Which fruit depends on your area.

Yes very true but I didn't start with fruit. I just dived right into the 'hard work '...lol. I'm growing staple foods and just recently started growing some fruits. Papaya, cashew and mango( still in the nursery stage though)
