I notice you did a little sniper job on my post (Red X) meaning you disagree.
( in the "prepare for the Trib thread"

It's nice of the Forum To leave you guys A way to sling some graffiti on someone's post And then run away ,Slip into the Shadows Without even addressing me
Duuuuuude.... why are you bringing this here??? And why are you so offended at receiving an X? It simply means someone disagrees. They are not under any compulsion to explain why. Do you likewise desire that everyone explains why they might put a thumbs up, a happy face, or any other type of reaction on your post?

yep - that's me every morning lol
Me too! How is your new leg working out for you, David? I am applying for a handicapped parking permit thingie cuz walking any distance is dufficult for me. I rec'd x-rays a couple of weeks ago and they did show arthritis in both my hips and lower back. Combined with my COPD... my doc wondered how long my hips have been giving me issues... I can't say for sure except I know it's been from before 2020. One of my younger sisters has had three hip replacements!!! I don't know about you, but I only have 2 hips... LOL

Thanks for asking/ I'm on my third socket = the part that goes over the residual leg. I should get the final one next week. If the final works as well as this test one, I should be good to go.
I don't have a problem with flat level surfaces. I carry and sometimes use a cane for everything else. Still having issues with balance due to long covid I guess.

I really did LOL when I first read Carries post. I guess I really am a sight to see getting dressed. again lol.

Your GP can approve you for a hdcp parking placard. Sometimes you may even be able to find a hdcp parking space. Usually there aren't enough to go around plus non hdcp people take them.

Sorry to hear about your hip problems. Will be praying for a healing or at least pain relief. Quick release tylenol worked well for me.

I am glad to hear this test socket is working out well for you, David. You are in my thoughts and prayers often. My Doctor asked me about using a cane or a walker but I am really not ready for that. She even said something about like ski poles, but there's no way I'm going to use ski poles because she said those were more for balance than anything and it isn't my balance that is an issue. Have you ever thought of using those Alpine poles? I'm not sure what they're called.

Anyway that is good news that your new socket will function better for you than what you've had so far. My Doctor did have to sign something for me to apply for the handicap parking spot permit, and that cost me over $50 to get her signature on the application form and then it's another $26 to get the actual whatever it is they call the thing that hangs from your rear view mirror to let people know we are actually qualified to use those spots if and when they are available. Each application is only good for 3 years so I suppose I'll have to go through this again but I'll deal with that when the time comes...

Sounds like you got ripped off. My dr didn't charge for the application and the placard was free here in Fl. Hdcp liscense plates are also cheaper here. I forget the cost but will switch for our next renewal

I haven't seen the poles you mention used. I'm good with just a cane for now. Maybe at some point my sense of balance will return and I can ditch the can also.

It's probably different here in Canada than it is anywhere in the States and I don't mind paying that much when everything else in our medical system is free ... except for prescriptions of course... although when I went through my chemotherapy all of those drugs were free. I probably shouldn't say everything else is free but, you know, general medical care certainly is. PS- I see people using those poles fairly often!
