You mean in regards to election?
I've never been to California nor do i have any interest to visit but i know you guys love choice words over there which has sort of disconnected the population from reality. I see in the news that a lot of people have left California but again i don't live there.
Just by how you classify cancer alone is sort of a mental trigger stress for a lot of people there with your Prop65 warnings and with the labels you slap on every item.
So i don't know my friend, you tell us, you live there.
Heck I've been sensing that more than 8 years now.
We got plenty of room left in Tennessee. Come on over.
I hear Missouri is also nice. And I have friends in Georgia who seem to like it there.

I know a few people in Tennessee and I think my God father owns properties in Springfield, Missouri.
It would be nice to leave here, considering I don’t really go anywhere. I would probably have to talk to my pastor to see if it is a wise decision for me. Ultimately I am not on this earth to please myself but to do the will of God.

Are you married to your pastor? If not, what possible control would he have over whether you move, or don't move?
I'm a little confused....
A change of location can be beneficial under the right circumstances; but a change of location by itself won't help for long. If you feel the Lord calling you and you want to have a closer walk with Him, changing your address might be just what you need.
I was born and raised in Missouri. I lived in Springfield for awhile. It's a nice place; at least it was when I lived there about 20 years ago. But remember, Satan can attack anywhere.

What do you mean, "as a minister" ? Is the OP some sort of minister at that church?
I can understand discussing a big move with some spiritually wise friends... that would just be common sense..... but to base my decision on whether my "pastor" says yea or nay? Nope.... I'm a grownup, and make my own decisions... hopefully after lots of thought and prayer, but depending on someone else to give me approval/permission? Nope.

Anyone my brother or mother invites into our house can’t look at me in the eye. I don’t know who they are inviting into our house, why they feel so intimidated. Maybe cause I’m a big guy with a beard.
Also, people out on the street when I’m walking in public, if I look at them, they look away really quick, as if I frighten them. My neighbors don’t talk to me, unless I say hi to them. When I’m walking in my neighborhood and I pass by people who are also walking, I say hello and I get complete silence/ignoring from them. I’m obviously not welcomed there.
its strange in Los Angeles county. I grew up in Orange County and moved to Long Beach ten years ago.
I got to spend some time in Santa Cruz back in 2000.... it's strange there, as well.
Growing up in Texas, where everyone "speaks" to others, when passing on the street.... it's odd to be in a place where you are treated with suspicion simply for common courtesy and friendliness.... weird people.
I would not do well there, for any extended period of time. Personally, I'd move to a friendlier part of the world... as soon as you get past NM and Colorado, going east, you get into the friendly folks...

No. I never said anything like that. Not even close.
As a minister I would discuss a move with my pastor for three reasons.
1. He's losing some help, and he deserves to know about it before it happens.
2. I might want him to give his approval of me to the pastor in the area I'm going to be living in soon. You know, kind of like a letter of recommendation. They used those in the New testament, you will recall.
3. He's a wise man and I might want his feedback on this.
But I mentioned all that just to illustrate there might be reasons somebody wants to discuss a move with his pastor before moving. Any one out of lots of reasons, or almost all the reasons.
Yes, in that scenario, if he was in some sort of job obligation, sure... definitely discuss it with the pastor, because your leaving would affect the "team".
If he is simply a member of the church, then I would wonder about his hesitation to move until his pastor "approved" it.... just a different way of looking at things, I guess.
I've known pastors/preachers that had no business giving any life advice to anyone. They were good a preaching a sermon, but not qualified to give advice.
That gets into one of my pet peeves.... it seems that in the world of protestantism, a lot of people call anyone that preaches, a "pastor", even if they do not meet the scriptural definition of pastor/elder/overseer. At our church, we used to have a pretty good preacher... he was young, and energetic, and pretty sound, scripturally.. He was a good speaker. But he was in no way qualified to be a pastor/elder/overseer.... he simply did not have the maturity and experience required for that position.
Asking someone like that for advice, simply because he's a "pastor" would be foolhardy, IMO.
