I live in the south eastern part of the US. Around me the main thing you'll encounter is lots of trees and forested areas. Go a few hours west and you'll find the mountains, go east long enough you'll hit the Atlantic ocean.

Weather wise we have all four seasons. Summer on average isn't too bad usually, but it can get pretty hot here. And winters aren't extreme. Some years we get snow, others none. Haven't really seen much in years though. And every fall our leaves turn colors.
Rain typically is decent. Not too heavy, not too little. My state can be prone to storms, often severe thunderstorms, in summer in particular. We can also get tornadoes. I'm far enough inland that most hurricanes that hit us are downgraded to tropical storms before then.
Overall I'd say it's a pretty nice state.
I've also been to Colorado, Illinois, DC and Tennessee, visiting. I've lived in Kentucky, Florida and California as well.

I’m in Texas, and the temperature is FINALLY cooling down. I’m still looking for fall, but at least my little one and I can take walks in the mornings now.

Here it looks like trees.

There's hills around here, because I live in Southwest Tennessee, but you can't see them for the trees.

We keep land cleared for where we live, work and play, but everything else is trees.

They take over everything if you leave it alone for a while. I recently drove past a place where there was a farm when I was a kid. Now it's all trees.

I'm sure there's roads around here somewhere. I drive on them everyday. But you can't see them right now for the trees.

no pics but we live in the Adirondack Mountains ( southern portion ) of New York. there's a view in all directions every season!!! people from all over the world visit the Adirondacks for foliage fall season leaf peeping. many attractions are here for every season.

We only got tornado decades ago in this town, it took trees down and some roofs off. So it is not usual in here. What do you do when there is a tornado warning? Or don't do anything just wait and see?

Gorgeous! Wow, it is so beautiful in there. Those mountains I could stare for a loong time. With a cup of coffee it would be perfect.
Those people have a really nice view from their windows in there, ocean and mountains. And in Autumn with all the colours.

A lot of people go down into the basement.

Or there are these big plastic bubbles they sell that you can dig a hole and sink into the ground. After you cover the big bubble up, it's a storm shelter.

We don't have a lot of either basements or storm shelters here in West Tennessee, but I hear about them a lot from other people.

Can't even imagine, having it so hot not being able to go out much. Must feel nice now able to go out without a heat blasting the moment you open the door.
Waitin' for fall? We are already at Christmas, stuff in stores from September.. those come to the stores earlier year after year! Our fall is over before it even almost has started, at least the store owners seem to think so.

Similar to here, there are hills but rarely see them, unless you are driving on them. Oh wait, but we do see hills, because they are quite heavily taking forest down, sell every tree on that plot and that also. It looks awful. They do plant new ones buuut... it does not make it that much better.
Do you have old forest and trees around, many hundreds of years old? Old mossy bottomed forest are beautiful, just rare in here.

Trees take over fast, I have a useless field that grows trees and bunch of willow bushes, it is pain to try keep it open. I would need some sheep to landscape it..

So, that is a forest maze where you live at, trying to find a road? Thick forest you are having around.

We have ruskamatka (Fall colour travel), where it is usual to go see the fall colours (Ruska), mostly in the Lapland region, up in the North.

Yes, but closer to my house you have to watch out for deer running out in front of your car. I did hit one once.

My state has had a few outbreaks of tornadoes. In 2011 there was a really bad outbreak here.
Fortunately for me, the majority of the tornadoes form more towards the east. Not as many to the west, but they still form there.
I've been fortunate that the area near my house doesn't seem to get very affected by severe weather. We do get severe storms, but not as much as surrounding areas.
But when we're in a tornado watch (weather favorable for a tornado to spawn) i just keep an eye on the weather to ensure it doesn't get worse. And if it's a tornado warning (a tornado is on the ground) I'll check to see where its located and which direction it's headed. Commonly most tornadoes travel more of a north and/or east pattern. So any north of us are likely to get further away. Same with east of us.
But we do have a light pole across the street from us that's been struck by lightning twice. As well as a tree in our front yard was once struck.
We have a few rather large trees in our front yard, as well. Always worries me when heavy winds hit. And there's also other large trees as you drive down the street past others yard.
And behind us is a forested area with lots of tall trees. Too far away to hit us if they fall down, but a strong enough tornado could potentially start tossing them around.
I also lived in California and experienced a few earthquakes. Fortunately nothing major, but its still such a scary feeling.
