Go preach the Gospel because that is what you are called to do.
grace and peace.
But - but - that won't make him special since this is every Christian's calling. He won't get any special attention that way!

We're all special to the Lord. Some of us just need a little more attention than others.
On a serious note though .. The office of evangelist is specific and is held to a greater responsibility than the rest of us who are called to witness just as those who are called to be a pastor/teacher are held to a double dose of discipline if they teach error.
To him who is given much, much will be required. (Lk.12:48b)
That's true. But I'm not sure if being an evangelist is his calling either. We're just guessing from what he's posting.

True, but I'm hearing the heart of an evangelist behind the words. Either way, it's between him and the Lord.![]()
I know this is my first thread, but I came to this site to ask people's opinions.
God has called me to be a prophet, but I don't understand the point of it. What good is it to know what is going to happen? What good is it to tell people what's going to happen?
When I do tell people what is going to happen, they don't believe me and they come up with any explanation they can to say that what God has shown me will happen won't happen.
Deuteronomy 18:21,22 gives the test of a prophet: "[SUP]21 [/SUP]You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” [SUP]22 [/SUP]If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed." I will pass that test when what God has shown me comes to pass. The only problem is that when what I say comes to pass, there will not be anyone alive or on this forum to verify it.
Even the most devout Christians on this forum will not be able to accept what I have to say. God is going to do a thing so great and terrible that you cannot even fathom it, let alone accept it. And again I ask, what good is it for me to tell anyone? I fear, and think I know deep down in my heart, that God has raised me up to be the unheard prophet: a raving madman preaching from the street corner about what He is going to do and that no one will listen or heed my warning. And then it will be too late.
I only recently joined and do not know what has been accomplished but I merely pointed out that prophecies should not contradict God’s Gospel—like those of Mohammed and Joseph Smith sometimes did, for example.69 pages of people gaslighting me and telling me I'm not a prophet, a Christian, an evangelist, or good for anything else in this world.
Hope you guys are satisfied with what you've accomplished here.
But in my daily walk, I know I must self-examine to see that I am in the faith. I pray and have fellowship with the Lord because I am in a real relationship with Him.
No one is "gaslighting" you.69 pages of people gaslighting me and telling me I'm not a prophet, a Christian, an evangelist, or good for anything else in this world.

No one is "gaslighting" you.
You are simply ignoring the weakness of your own claims.
So now you are a "mental health practitioner"?I was a mental health practitioner. I know what gaslighting is. There is ample evidence of it throughout this thread.
You're doing it right now.

To save me from having to dig through the entire thread would both of you mind telling me what the main problematic assertion is? ThanksGaslighting can come in all manners, shapes, and forms.
Those we see in mental health are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Gaslighting happens when someone tries to get you to believe an unreality that they impose upon you as reality.
In your case? You believe it yourself..... So, its not typical gaslighting.
It's the Word of God that you are gaslighting, and you can not see it.
Because... you can not see it.

Probably many of us have had dreams that were prophetic in nature.
Some have more than others.
But, that does not make one into a prophet as described in the NT church's early days.
Problems happen when someone becomes convinced he is a prophet because of prophetic dreams.
I had more than my share. Some of them caused me fear and trembling.
But, I never imagined myself to be a prophet.
Never could, because of knowing all the other aspects the Bible prescribed to a real NT gift of prophet.
