That was the topic of today's message at my Church, remembering the sabbath.

I'm going to relax today and chill from all my worries.

I just got home from work. Gonna relax for at least a couple hours. Yeah, I'm gonna chill too.

Rubbish. Unless you are Jewish, the Law never has applied to you, even before you were saved. "Hear, Oh Israel", says God. Not to Egypt, Babylon, Persia or any other nation.

Christians are not just saved by grace, they also live by grace.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Notice the stranger that wants to be part of God people
They are told to keep the sabbath.

Who are God's people today.

Rom 9:6 ...... For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Gal 3:28-29
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

The Gentiles are grafted into Israel. Joined to the root.

Are you an Israelite today. Spiritually in Jesus?

The new covenant is for Israel.

Heb 8:8-10
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:.....10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Write the laws into their minds. If we are Israel today God wants to write those laws on our hearts today

The sabbath does not apply to Christians. You should do a proper study of God's word to find out the relationship between the law and the believer.
You are drawing a line between Christians and Jews
We are one in Christ.

We are freed from the consequence of the law but that does not mean we can continue to transgress the law.

Sin is what caused the death of Jesus and is what will cause our eternal death if we are not saved by grace.

But do we keep sinning because Jesus has died for our sins?

Rom 3:30-3130 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Rom 6:1-2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Mat 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Cherry-picking verses to make your point will not prove your argument. Christians are not under the Mosaic law… period. This is the sum of NT teaching on the subject.

Matthew 5:17-19
17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19 Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
