Hey Everyone,

I've been fortunate to have a terrific female physician for the past 2 years, but just received a message that she will be leaving the network I'm currently able to go to. I've already sent a message asking her if she's able to tell me where she's going (I would consider paying out of pocket to see her if I had to,) but if not, I've been researching other options. I also sent a message to a specialist I see asking for a recommendation.

While of course, I have NOTHING against male doctors, I prefer female, because when you're experiencing pain near your ovaries -- well, it just makes sense to talk to someone who actually HAS ovaries!

I'm sure several others have experienced losing a trusted medical professional as well.

* Does anyone know, are doctors even allowed to tell patients where they're going next? (I'm guessing no, because of competition.)

* What tips do you have for finding a new doctor who's as good as your last?

Any advice and experiences would be appreciated, thank you!

It's such a pain to have to find a new doctor who understands your healthcare needs and that you can trust and be comfortable with! All I can say is to pray that the Lord guides you to another amazing doctor and take your time choosing them.

My current doctor is very good and I feel completely "at home" and comfortable around him. This is really important to me, because if I ever get so sick, I don't want the added stress of having a doctor who is distant and aloof. I've had other doctors like that before and I didn't go back to them.

My parents went to him but he left their insurance company so they had to find another doctor. BUT he DID say which insurance companies he's affiliated with if they wanted to stay with him.

Hi @2ndTimeIsTheCharm,

Thank you very much for your encouraging words! I'm hopeful that God will lead me to the right doctor. :)

I completely understand what you're saying. I've felt incredibly blessed to have medical professionals who believed in getting patients off medication whenever possible, but I've also had your experience of going to some who were just too impersonal to ever go back.

That's a great idea of asking about what insurance a doctor is with -- thank you so much!

I was originally with insurance that was only accepted at state-run facilities (nothing wrong with that, it just really limited options,) and was very thankful to switch to something withe a broader network.

I really appreciate you sharing your experience! :)

Ever wonder how healthy everyone would be if we never went to the doctor? I can't imagine how many unpleasant diagnosis I would have received over the years, how many sorceries they would have performed on me. All the cutting and burning and prescribing. And the witches brew of so called medications. I'll pass, hard work, good food, good attitude, Great Physician, no butchers required.
All that said, I don't condemn anyone for their own personal health decisions. If you took the Jab, all I can say is I'm sorry, best wishes.

I personally see the medical community as being like any other entity in a fallen world, including the church -- there are some who are in it for evil reasons, and there are some who genuinely want to serve people. Sifting through the bad and trying to find the good is always a challenge.

I've been blessed in that I've had some wonderful people in the medical field who have helped me greatly, including saving my eyesight. Without medical intervention, I most likely would have gone blind many years ago.

So yes, I continue to have regular check-ups -- everyone has to do what works for them.

I know a lot of Christians who are obese/struggle with weight and are limited in many areas of life because of it. For anyone who can manage their weight and maintain their health naturally, that's wonderful! But I don't know many who do on their own.

I don't know if you read this in my post (#3,) but I'm fortunate enough to have doctors who believe in using as few interventions and medications as possible.

No, I don't take any weight-loss drugs or anything like that, but my doctor's guidance and yearly visits to check my general health help keep me motivated to do my part to stay active and within a healthy range.
