One thing that often comes up when discussing politics is 'X' platform is removing our freedoms. For example when speaking about Republicans the first thing that comes up is abortion rights and same sex marriage laws. I personally am against abortion but even my Christian mother has very complex views on it and just about all of my non-christian peers are absolutely appalled by such laws, but the law is at least founded on some Biblical principles, atleast it's perceived that way, however; many people even christian will argue that it is not biblical that abortion is a sin. On the other side of the coin, there are folks who look at the democratic party and their thwarts again gun rights and speech censorship (which I personally am more worried about than abortion rights but as a single male trying to explain this to someone who believes otherwise just makes me look insensitive and self conceited.)
What do you feel on the matters?
Especially on the premises of 'Bible law' applied through the Republican party to all people including those who are not religious or Christian. There obviously is a spiritual transformation that happens when you become saved that allows you to be able to better perceive biblical law if you are serious about God, which many people who are not saved will not be able to attune to, but should they still be subject to the law through government mandate and if so does that mean we are strong arming them into conformity, much in the same way that we accuse the left of doing?
Thoughts?
