What do you do in a situation where a family member that lives 50 minutes away can’t help but continue to insult you, saying “you’re a fake Christian and your posts of scripture and other Christian type posts to your Facebook page are fake?” When they are literally reposts from bible.com, pray.com and crossway.com…? Is this modern day persecution? Cause it sure seems like it.

Thank you Daisy. I forgot about that verse but I do know father against son, daughter against mother, mother in-law against daughter in-law.

Sometimes they’re just being jerks and they’re just trying to hurt your feelings. They know that your faith is important to you.. Jesus would say turn the other cheek, but we are ONLY human.

Sure seemed like it. It definitely hurt, considering they said they believed maybe like a few years ago when I was over.

I remember when a boy on the church bus was in tears because another boy said he was eight years old. "I'm not eight, I'm nine!"

"Does him calling you eight make you eight?"

"No, I'm still nine!"

"Then it doesn't matter what he says. Let him say whatever he wants. It doesn't change the facts."

My brother has lived in Texas for more than a decade, and apparently has forgotten everything he knew about me. Last time we spoke, he called me a liar. That may be the last time we ever speak, because I do not enjoy throwing my words away on someone who will so casually dismiss them. But him calling me a liar does not make me one.

At the start of this year we had a snowstorm. I still showed up at my job because I like driving on snow. When I entered the building I said, "Woulda got here sooner, but I got pulled over for a speeding ticket."

The person to whom I said this replied, "You did? Really?" With snow on the ground, snow on the roads, snow still coming down, I thought that statement was ludicrous enough to obviously be a joke. "Well I know you don't lie, so I thought maybe it could have happened..."

*Sigh...

But yeah, just because somebody calls you something doesn't make you that. So move on. Associate with those who know you and ignore the ones who don't know you but spout off a lot.

I swear, you have some of the best responses lynx.

This has nothing to do with your response but something I wanted to get off my chest.

I rebuked a friend I was closest with because he was doing something’s as a follower of Jesus Christ that followers may have done before they were followers. Acts that I don’t want to talk about. After I rebuked him and brought light to the situation, he stopped responding to me and unfriended me on social media. We were like work friends that remained friends for 7 years. I couldn’t let him lead anyone astray again, including myself. We are held to a different standard as followers.

After that occurred last week, I did drink 2 oz of red wine two days ago and 2 oz of red wine yesterday. Not sure why I turned to alcohol, even though it was a little amount. After those two days, I started sensing that I was craving it. So I listened to a pray.com podcast that talked about alcohol addiction. Of course God would randomly bring that up. I dumped the rest of the bottle out, so I wouldn’t drink anymore but I can tell that my mind is still healing off of that little amount.

If anyone here has ever had an alcohol addiction, to never go back. Your flesh will crave it the first time coming back to it most likely.

I don’t understand some family members. I think maybe your brother didn’t know your identity in Christ? Or maybe he got lost in the world. Not sure, I shouldn’t make any assumptions.

Satan will use those close to you to try to break you. Its called spiritual oppression. 2 Corinthians chapter 10. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world, on the contrary, they have divime power to demolish strong holds.
Satan wants to penetrate your mimd. He uses spiritual oppression on those who have Holy Spirit. Satan doesn't want spiritual growth. Doesn't want Christians to study Bible and plant seeds for God. Good fruit exposes fruits of darkness. Satan will use family or neighbors to persecute you. My own family was subtle. They spent over year, taking me to restaurants. They slowly tried to get me to follow there false doctrine and. I picked up on it. My family doesn't talk to me much anymore. Next, my wicked neighbors used spiritual oppression on me. Satan will try to get to you.

Satan has the Reprobates. They have unclesn Spirit. Satan wants those who have Holy Spirit,or spiritual growth.
2 Corinthians chapter 4
We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed, we are perplexed, but not in despair, Persecuted, but not forsaken. Struck down, but not destroyed. Enemies Tactics are to attack our faith. My advice. I would keep distance from your family. I rarely talk to my family.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I’m most likely just not going to go over there anymore. My dad’s wife has always been that way and I don’t know why my dad continuously checks up on me if he doesn’t believe in God. He hasn’t done anything for me almost my entire adult life. I’ve gone over to his house like over 50 times and he has come over to where I live like twice. It’s supposed to be mutual. Then they say that it’s because I resent them….its very strange

People accused Jesus of being fake; and he was going around healing lepers, restoring sight to the blind, and fulfilling messianic prophecies. Unbelievers will say that about anybody that doesn't itch their ears, or feed their ego.

You interfered with the gates of hell, so you became the next target.

If anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

It sounds like you dealt with it alright, though.
