Hey! To start off, I want to exhort all of us to be in prayer concerning those lives in peril that have been impacted by this hurricane, and around the world by oppression, by wars, sicknesses, and more, that God would provide physical provisions, as well as laborers to meet physical and spiritual needs. I'm new to this site, but I just wanted to share a word of encouragement from Luke 6:46-49. What are you building your house upon? The Rock of our Salvation, or the things of this world (money, family, a career)? The things in parentheses are not bad things when taken to the Cross and lived through the Spirit. Do you know the God of Abraham, Issaac, Jacob, and the God that has redeemed mankind as a whole from the penalty and power of sin, should they come to repentance (A change of mind toward Him?). Verse 48 in this passage speaks of a flood that comes and whether our foundation is strong enough. We see in places of high risk for extreme weather events, that homes and buildings are built to withstand even the toughest circumstances. But what about in our lives? Can these circumstances perhaps be a family member that tries our patience, a sickness or chronic illness that may be plaguing us, financial burdens, bullying? Storms may be sent by Satan, as temptations, to turn us from God, but we must also know He can test our faith for our personal growth and maturity in faith. Let us study to show ourselves approved to God, as living sacrifices, so that we may remember our foundation, Jesus, and that our lives may be built on His Word. God bless you!
