The son sits at the right hand of the father. I just realized if someone sits at your right hand, and you are seated on a throne, that means you are seated side by side and of equal stature. Physically side by side.
“The LORD is in his holy temple, The LORD's throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.”
Psalm 11:4 KJV
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's:
But the earth hath he given to the children of men.”
Psalm 115:16 KJV
Eventually this became the situation as God watches mankind in earth
“God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Psalm 53:2-3
and even the priests he had chosen in Israel and Jerusalems prophets as well had turned to wickedness and idolatry. Eventually this left mankind without any intercession for sin and God saw this situation and it displeased him because there were some few over all the world that still feared and believed in him yet still they sinned and struggled and they couldn’t repent because there was no intercession
“Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey:
and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. ….And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.”
Isaiah 59:1-2, 12, 14-17, 19-20 KJV
So In the Old Testament there was no intercessor when man sinned because even the priests became sinful and crooked and veiled before God so rhier intercessions we’re rejected and it left man there with none to intercede with God for them like Moses had and then the prophets after ect
And so his answer is that he himself became a man( the son ) to intercede for mans sins as one of us the only one worthy of all of us to intercede with god.
a preist has to be a man that’s obedient in all of gods matters always faithfully.
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Matthew 1:22-23
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 KJV
“Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.”
Luke 22:69 KJV
“and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”
Acts 7:56 KJV
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”
Colossians 3:1 KJV
what this entire subject is about is our high priest and intercessor in heaven at the right hand of God who can intercede when we have sinned and save us from death.
“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”
Hebrews 8:1-2, 6
And so now you have this
“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
Mark 16:19 KJV
“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
Romans 8:34
“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Hebrews 7:25 KJV
remember the issue before in the Old Testament
“And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor:
And so his arm worked salvstion in earth
therefore his arm brought salvation unto him.”
“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Revelation 1:17-18 KJV
So instead of having an angel accusing man in heaven by the law without intercession , we have a man at the right hand of God interceding for mankind’s sin and for those who repent washing then all away as if they never were. By the sacrifice of his own blood poured out on the crucifix at Calvary. A day of mans victory over death and hell ….
….I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
“O sing unto the LORD a new song; For he hath done marvellous things: His right hand, and his holy arm, Hath gotten him the victory.”
Psalm 98:1 KJV
We needed a perfect man to intercede and so he became a perfect man to intercede.
the imagery of him at Gods right hand reflects the high priest working intercession in the holy of holies for mankind
