How should we respond to claims of modern day physical supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit in light of the New Testament miracles such as Mark 3:1-6, John 14:11, John 20:24-29, Luke 18-23 and others?

physical supernatural? what is physical cannot be supernatural, right?

IF you are asking about the several people who claim to be able to heal people by slapping them on the head, respond with caution.

IF you are asking does supernatural healing still happen today, the answer is yes. I have personally seen two instances where this occurred. But it came from Sanctified saints of God praying for healing of the person afflicted. Not the circus act often seen on TV.

Consider this:

1 John, Chapter 4:

1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

I do not see God today, going to another Son or daughter and telling them to tell their brother or sister, I came here to heal you?
I know it happens, and yet was stopped many years ago after the risen Son left and went to heaven, Paul and the other Apostles healed at a word, a touch, by a handkerchief Paul touched. people wanted this gift, even tried to buy it.
Wow
This is what I see, go into your own closet shut the door and pray to Father of risen Son in secret
Father openly rewards those that stand in humility, and are not a show, period. If someone else heals someone else, who then is getting the credit, is it God or that person behind the scenes?
I am not saying it is not possible, I do see Jesus never once telling anyone to tell anyone else about his healing them. He made no reputation of self, the people did and still do today. Running over there and then here to be healed, not saved, healed presently here.

There was a person, that used to tap people on the head, push, and say to them you are now slain in the Spirit, that would fall out backwards
Really????????????????? Slain means dead, that person was killing the Spirit of the people for them, really, that be just what I saw.
God came to give us new life in God's spirit and Truth, we are all first born as dead, to be made alive in belief to the done work of God through Son Jesus as risen for us each personally. true or false, you decide, I have
For the time comes, and now is, when we do not worship God over there or here, ?The Kingdom has come to live inns the people in belief to Son is risen as proof, he is the way, the truth and new life for us to rest in everyday. Hebrews 4

Did you even read the question? Be honest.

A physical supernatural manifestation would include events such as the raising of the dead, manna from heaven, speaking in a unknown language, parting the sea etc. In other words physical events that can only be caused by the supernatural.
IF you are asking about the several people who claim to be able to heal people by slapping them on the head, respond with caution.

The OP is about responding to claims of the miraculous that do not line up to the examples of the Bible. Examples that are not physical in nature but are simply claimed as supernatural.
How can you test a physical supernatural event if all you have is the claim???

Thanking God for conflicting examples? Sorry but your comment may be over my head. Can you go into a little more detail?

Of course.
Could you please explain to me what’s a conflicting example?

Jesus physically and supernaturally healing a man in front of onlookers vs. modern claims of the miraculous without evidence.

Ah okay.
In this case i would suggest to ask an admin to close this topic and open another topic titled:

Why isn't Jesus repeating the same miracles exactly like he did in the Bible personally?

or

Here are some of the miracles that i like or don't like

or or

Here are the reasons why i am a cessasionist.

We should believe they exist & pray for the baptism in/of the Holy Spirit so we can manifest them ourselves.
Sadly, many who say all the NT is still true have ways of explaining them away.

The OP is fair, you just don't like the side you are on.

That's a whole lot of pronouns for a opening statement. Could you fill in those pronouns with some nouns? Please.

The OP is clear and straight forward.

I suspect you are aware of the obvious hole on your side and do not wish to confront your naked emperor.

The OP is clear as mud.
I suspect you don't like it when others get Miracles because it ruins your theology.

Those were miracles performed by Christ. But you are talking about "modern day physical supernatural manifestations". Two entirely different things.

I've seen things that only God could do quite often. I have a book full of supernatural miracles that God performed. They had nothing to do with going forward at a service either.
Did God do more by the hand of Jesus when He was in ministry? Yes, the Bible describes creation of food and raising dead Lazarus at 4 days.
In addition, the apostles were able to perform "special miracles" for a period of time to confirm the Word.

God brought my dead Dad back to life when I was 5 years old. That was closer to an hour.
Two months before the Clarksburg VA medical staff member murdered my Dad, Jesus saved his soul. Those were two major miracles that were both necessary for my Dad to be in Heaven forever. God is active a willing that none should perish, but have everlasting life.

I think we should be very skeptical. As you've mentioned, we shouldn't just accept unsubstantiated claims. That seems to be the standard many people use these days: Someone said it, so who am I to question it. This is how a lot of fakes get away with things. Additionally, we shouldn't get caught up in Charismania; we should use sober judgment.

The Bible says to test the spirits so that's the first response.

If the miracles passes the test, just thank God for them.

Done!

There were those in Paul's day that wanted what they saw Paul have and the other disciples also. Personally I see it good as has stopped, for people that were going after the wrong thought(s) of selfishness. Even Jesus when he saw the crowd, he said to that crowd why they were there.
It was to get healed physically, not spiritually and be fed physically, not spiritually. seeing that still going on presently, and those taking it for granted in leading others, stripping thier pocket books. Not that is bad to give, it is good to give. Yet please get Counsel of God over man doing it as if God called them to raids your pocket book, no thanks
