Or was that a desert? Was it a mountain, I need look it up.

But anyway, I do not believe Jesus was lusting after anything, not ever. I do not believe he was tempted because of he's lusts. But we know in one of the letters in the new testiment, that it says we are tempted by our own lusts. So what I am thinking, is I did not understand what it said. Maybe it says, we fall for temptation because of our own lusts.

Being tempted is not a sin. Acting on temptation is a sin. Matthew 4 says that "Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil." So I believe he was tempted.

The Bible lists three sources of temptation: Satan's kingdom, our carnal selves, and the world.

Jesus Christ overcame the 3 temptations with scripture. We are to do the same.

Here’s some insight to the 3 Temptations:

BODY - lust of the flesh
Overcome with Word of God and self-control

SOUL - lust of the eyes
Overcome with being thankful for what we do have and wait for God to give us all things to enjoy… no worship of other things or idolatry.

SPIRIT - Pride of life
Overcome with humility which opens our eyes to truth and faith and belief; pride blinds us to truth and we end up doubting God… stay humble and full of faith, no need to harm oneself trying to tempt God to do something.

"Neither tempteth he any man.--The trial comes of Him, i.e., the Tempter is allowed; but so far, and no further. God Himself is "unversed of evils," and no possibility of temptation remains with Him. Into the unseen splendour of His fulness no thought of wrong can enter; no foul thing wing its silent flight. It were blasphemy, perilously near that of the Pharisees (Matthew 12:22-37) to think God's kingdom could be so divided against itself, that He, directly or indirectly, should seduce His subjects into the revolt of sin. No; if we have one golden clue by which we may feel our erring way out of the labyrinth of this lower world into the belief and trust in God our Father for the life to come, it is this: trials and temptations are permitted to strengthen us--if we will--for His mightier service. And, as compulsory homage would be worthless to the loving Lord of all, voluntary must be found instead, and proved and perfected. Herein is the Christian conflict, and the secret of God's ways with man."

This is to say that God has not hardened our hearts to commit the sin. We ourselves have done it when we are tempted we must call out to the Lord and he will deliver us.

But our Father, being a merciful God, considers the times a man lives in. If we fall he will pick us up as a father to child.

Is these three things you stated above, a work of our own flesh and blood nature to overcome?
When Jesus overcame it all before you and I and others here today were ever born here too?

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Since it is done, God by Son has overcome the world fro us all to believe. When one does, are we to go out and do as led to do by people? Or in thanksgiving and praise to God (Psalm 100:4) seeing all sin taken away in Son for us, the prophecy filled by Son for us
Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

I, we believe, it might be time to see, you think?
I believe God did it all for me and y'all to respond to in thanksgiving and praise. Once for every to be born new in belief to this love and mercy given us all to give out as have gotten given it from God to all. Thank you
John 19:30 fulfilled Matt 5:17, for new life to be given us in trust Hebrews 9:14-17

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Jesus overcame the world for us

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Therefore trust God in Son the fulfilling of all Law and prophecies of the Christ our Messiah is completed for us to walk new in the risen Son given us to walk new and not of self ever again.
At least me, I am in process learning new in God's Spirit and Truth only.
It is done, finished by Son as in John 19:30 for me and all who believe God in the death, burial as proof, seeing he is risen have, are given new life in Father's Spirit and Truth, now led as Son was in the earth walk he did first as perfect. Amazing grace given, that can't be earned ever, never was in the first Testament nor in the second Testament either but by Son, once for us all to believe or not believe God and stand in that no matter what happens good or bad to thee
the bottom line Will you, me and others deny God
Jesus did not all that way to the cross, and is risen where new life in God's Spirit and Truth is given. Even in the book of Job we see Job would not deny God. time for us all to stand and not deny God n o matter what troubles come to us too. thank you

Hebrews 4:14-16, especially verse 15, says that Jesus was tempted in every way we are:

Heb 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Heb 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

To be tempted is not to sin; we can in Jesus' power reject a temptation because he rejected all of the temptations that Satan threw at him. However, it's not to our credit but only to his because of the power of his resurrection that is available to true believers.

This be what we, at least me, as new learn from God over it all in time after time of mistakes made to see the truth in this gift from God Father to us to rest in as in Hebrews 4 tells me about I need to rest, and I am not speaking of a world rest, the Spiritual rebirth rest given us in the risen Son to lead us, me at least, thank you Learning new daily and not arrogantly, been g made wise as a serpent daily, remaining harmless as a dove in this awareness

It is the indwelling sin nature (called "the flesh") in human beings descended form Adam that can be tempted through the three lusts.

But Christ did not have this sin nature. Firstly He is God, and secondly He was conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit. He did not have a human father. The devil mistakenly thought that Christ could actually be tempted to sin (like any human being). So the temptations presented by him were real, but there was nothing within Jesus to respond to those temptations. And it was in the wilderness, which is not exactly the same as a desert.

Not born of man, woman yes, not man. genesis 3:15-16 fulfilled, not understood until the resurrected Son as Won (One) with Father.
There is a new Law and it is not of the first Covenant, yet it is, how
Love, God's (1 Cor. 13:4-7) the greatest of the Law from God through Son to us to see and be new and love all seriously in the risen Christ for us. doing new as get led to do that by God for us through risen Son to us, at least me, and not by people in general as if others are better than others, no one is better than the other as I read that in Luke 19:9-14
I like what you posted in truth, thank you

Tested (to confirm authenticity as in testing Silver). Not tempted.
Jesus God is never tempted by sinful desires, as He is impeccable diety.

Similar to this "testing".....

Exo 17:2
Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the LORD?”
Exo 17:3
And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, “Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” (a false accusation).
Exo 17:5
And the LORD said to Moses, “Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go.
Exo 17:6
“Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Num 14:22
Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

The point being that God is ALWAYS sanctified by testing. Without fail.

Deu 6:16
“You shall not tempt the LORD your God as you tempted Him in Massah.
Mat 4:7
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' ”

For anyone to impugn God's character with accusations of neglect of lack of love is......EVIL.
And yet God is longsuffering and loving to the end.

Start with the correct definition. Or you will end up in the weeds.

Jesus was put on trial. MANY TIMES. In the wilderness, by the pharisees, by Satan, by the Satan-man Judas.
He was "ASSAYED" (which God allowed) and PROVED Himself sinless and therefore the perfect sacrifice without blemish for our sins.

Amazing grace given us, that I know I have failed time and time again, being in a body of unredeemed flesh, that fights the Spirit of God, wanting to be God, amazing
God is truthfully Love beyond measure,
Amazing grace to rest in and not go out to do to get or to be a better person than others ever for me at least, thanks for your post
God said to Paul "My Grace is sufficient for you"
Therefore Paul said he will glory in his iniquities, as many, myself included have worked iniquities for self gain
Seeing to glory in my need not use my need to get what I want here and now from peoples did before seeing the new given me to stand in
thanks

BTW, God declares the false accusation of neglect/flailing to deliver/sin as EVIL.
Why?

Because that is (AND CONTINUES TO BE) the false accusation/lie of Satan.
One of the many primordial lies that Satan uses to damn the souls of men.

If one anyone is in unbelief, it is sin Roman’s 14:23 that is all that is left. To believe God in risen Son or not. That one time physical death of son took sin the nasty nines and dirty dozen out of the way, between God and us. Therefore we can now enter his courts in thanksgiving and praise, with all sin taken out of the way as far as the east is from the west.
ps. 100:4,103:12, John 19:30, to get given Ezekiel 36:26 the new begins in mercy love and compassion from God Father as in 1 Cor 13:4-7 is imputed to us as born again new by God in God’s spirit and truth. John 4:23-24
