Go ahead and start that thread then. I will even join in the conversation. This thread is for discussing, Trump singing an American flag and the political ramifications surrounding that.
Well.....frankly this topic is such a nothingburger that we need to shift gears into something with more meat on the bone.

I was replying to someone and making the point that the outrage on the left is because there is no outrage on the right.
So the left was outraged that the people they called deplorable, irredeemable and domestic terrorists were not more outraged at Trump for doing something that most of them probably were unaware of?

Stop getting so worked up about a few assassination attempts and instead get outraged about what really matters, he wrote his name on a flag?

start another thread, don't hijack this one.

How is calling for jail sentences for those that desecrate the flag and then desecrating the flag yourself a nothingBurger?

It's indicative of his character and it needs to be highlighted that this is not the mark of a good leader. We do not want someone in office who has standards he wants everyone else to follow except for himself.

I shouldn't even have to make this point. It should be making itself loud and clear. That's my point is that before Trump if someone did this type of stuff they wouldn't even be taken seriously after that.

His supporters are so blinded by fear of the other that they can't see the true wolf in the hen house.

No not at all I'm not getting worked up about this. I'm standing up to people that are trying to derail the thread. And play this off as if it's nothing. When you and I both know that if Harris did this it would not be played off as if it's nothing.

The right feels attacked by her laugh, smile, dancing and word salad if she did something like this they would lose their collective head.

You can throw facts and logic all day long at Trump's hardcore disciples, won't make an ounce of difference. They're operating on an entirely different plane that's separated from reality and logic. Best thing to do is just ignore them, if you value your peace of mind.

Let me take a little time to remind you how you approacho this.

I was replying to someone and making the point that the outrage on the left is because there is no outrage on the right.

You demonstrated that point by attempting to pivot away from the discussion by using whataboutisms.

And it was only when I held your feet to the fire that you admitted that he was an idiot and did stupid things. But it was only done out of necessity when you were not able to run from the truth. And you did so in a dismissive way to say oh that's just cousin Donnie being cousin Donnie LOL he just does stupid things lol.

Instead of addressing the elephant in the room that if Kamala did such stupid things on a regular basis you would hold her feet to the fire and you wouldn't stop talking about it until the day of the election.

Let's talk about that let's talk about how you would be treating Harris differently. You would be the one starting this thread you would be the one defending the flag code.

You're forgetting that Donald Trump called for jail sentences for flag desecrators. According to him he believes that he should go to jail for what he did. That's the real issue here.

Kamala made no such statements about jailing those that desecrate the flag. However Trump did. She must be held to the same standard that he wishes to hold other people too.
You haven't addressed the elephant in the room. The elephant is that liberals are more bothered by a flag being signed than allowing an undemocratic primary, babies killed, the lack of a border, monetary policy destroying wealth and the ability of Americans to buy necessities, election security, among other things. You are worried about vacuuming the carpet while the house is on fire. What do you say we put the fire out, and then see if there is any carpet left?

Make a new thread and I will talk to you about it there.

As I have stated before I am not putting undue importance on this issue over others. I'm simply not going to allow anyone to pivot to another discussion well-in discussion about this one topic on this thread.

If no one wants to talk about this that's fine however it's something I wanted to talk about and if you choose not to, again you can close the thread and you can go on to a new one.

Talk about what you like. But don't misrepresent people or the arguments they make. And be intellectually honest.

How am I misrepresenting people and their arguments? And what areas am I not being intellectually honest?

OK I've got it figured out.

The Prog left are REALLY trying to say on this thread is that this flag signing business makes all the assassination attempts not only acceptable, but necessary.

I value peace of mind as much as the next guy.
But I value my 1st Amendment rights much MUCH more.
And without one, you will never have the other.

Being able to afford groceries and rent.....that would help too.

Whatabout is a liberal made up word for when they run out of an argument. Two assignation attempts were made on a presidents life!! Someone was murdered the first time. THAT is what is important, not a sig on a flag. Get a grip! This is peoples lives we are talking about!!

You almost accused me of excusing Trump for his behavior, and would say Harris was unfit for the presidency if she had done the same. Neither is true.
And you are not honest about the truly important issues facing this nation.

I'm not making that argument at all and to say such is a straw man of my actual beliefs.

I made this post before the assassination attempt.

I have a lot to say about the assassination attempt as I'm sure others here would as well I've been attempting to direct it towards other threads as to not to derail this one.

The right has been fuming at the seems over kamala's laughter, smiles, dancin, word salad and her being a commie which no one seems to be able to explain.

In light of this my question is simple. If Kamala did the same thing we all should be able to agree that the conservative media would attack it like a rabbit dog. It's important for us to talk about this instead of pivoting. I will talk about the garbage on the left openly and honestly however I will hold the feet to the fire of the the right for them to do the same thing.

To bring up the assassinations or anything else is an attempt to pivot from this conversation.

And yes what whataboutism is slang for pivoting. Pivoting in political discussions is a real tactic and something I will not tolerate. You can go and do that to someone else.

You know as well as I do if this were Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. Doing this to a flag, right wingers would be having a collective poopy fit yelling.... SEE I TOLD YOU THEY HATE AMERICA!

There is not much to pivot away from honestly. Its little more than you tilting at windmills.
