Yep. My SIL teaches in the Springfield public schools and lives among many of the immigrant population (in the Fountain Ave. John St. area). My wife's parents (retired), nieces, and several cousins all have lived in Springfield their entire lives.
Great, do they know this mayor or police chief?

FYI, the father of that child is begging for his son's death to not be exploited for politics. They're asking to be left alone.

https://apnews.com/article/haitian-...-springfield-d119b387175434c08597784ba82860ed

So I will respect the family's wishes.
That isn't what I asked. You talked about befuddled laughter from people who were from Springfield, I did not assume they were laughing at a kid who was killed. These people are not exploiting anything. Enough with the dodge. You have no problem mocking, ridiculing and insulting those who are concerned about this, name dropping that somehow you are aware of the situation first hand and yet here are people being interviewed who live there and put forth their names and you give this pathetic dodge.

3 When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.

You accuse them of exploiting the issue for politics. That is contempt, that is ignominy.

5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

These people have every right to talk about their experience and your claim about your wife is empty, it brought nothing to the conversation, no insight, simply an attempt to boost your credibility up from 0.

15 The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

There is nothing wrong with us trying to get knowledge over what is going on.

5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

You posted a video that started with a guy talking about the family who is asking people to leave them alone and not include them in political discussions.

I will respect their wishes.

They were laughing at the fake stories about their pets being eaten and them living in fear.

You accuse them of exploiting the issue for politics. That is contempt, that is ignominy.
I did no such thing. I simply noted that the family has specifically asked to be left alone and that I plan to respect that.

You said “their town being the focus of racist propaganda” post 10,455.

That is an ugly, slanderous assertion. The people I saw interviewed made it very clear that they are concerned about people who are breaking the law, and that has resulted in multiple accidents. One of the people interviewed had been in three accidents from Haitians without a license (he and his wife). So when we dig down as to who is being racists they made a very good point which is if you choose to not prosecute someone because of the color of their skin, that is racist.

You referred to this as “nonsense” post 10,455. and yet my video quoted the mayor, the police chief and one of the School Bus drivers. None of them mentioned the boy who was killed by name.

However, they did share their own experiences as they have children who go to the same school, children who ride the school bus, etc. No one has the right to tell them they can’t share their own personal experiences and pretending that they somehow violated this other person’s request is absurd.

I asked based on your assertions of racist propaganda and nonsense to respond to what these people said and your response was the father of the boy killed asked that his son not be exploited for political reasons and that you were respecting his wishes by not responding. That is completely bogus.

My statement was in reference to the "Haitians are eating pets in Springfield" racist propaganda. Please try and remember that.

Of course if anyone, immigrants, citizens, or otherwise, breaks the law they should be held accountable.

You referred to this as “nonsense” post 10,455.
Again, that was specifically in reference to the "Haitians are eating pets in Springfield" garbage. Please try and remember that.

I watched the father's speech and I plan to respect their wishes to leave them alone and not bring them up in political discussions.

Others are free to do as they wish, but I hope and pray that my fellow Christians will just leave this family alone and let them grieve in peace.

The dad asked for politicians to not use his son's death as a talking point in discussions around illegal immigrants.

If you are not a politician, you or anyone else who is not a politician talking about this issue is not disrespecting his wishes.

But since you believe it is disrespecting his wishes despite the fact you are not a politician, why do you keep talking about it?

Watch the father's full speech. If afterwards you want to keep bringing up their family, that's your choice. I will no longer discuss them here at this forum in any way. I pray others reach the same conclusion and allow the family some peace.

I did not bring it up. I am responding to what you keep bringing up.

Yeah, he specifically names a couple of politicians. I am not a politician.

But if you want to pretend you are respecting his wishes, stop bringing it up!!!

My wife is from Springfield, OH (graduated from the old Springfield South HS) and she has lots of family there. We checked in with them this week to ask about all the nonsense, and it was interesting to hear their reactions.

It was a mix of befuddled laughter and joking, and anger at their town being the focus of racist propaganda. The memes they've been sharing with us are really funny, but it's also sad that they have to go through all this.

The recent history of Springfield is important to know too. They'd lost a ton of people over the years, and after the housing crash/recession of 2008 there were empty, boarded up houses everywhere. Recently there was even a labor shortage, with employers practically begging for workers.

Those are some of the reasons the immigrants from Haiti came to Springfield. There were lots of jobs and very cheap houses, plus there was a Haitian-American run charity that could help people as they arrived.

Unfortunately, the recent chaos in Haiti led to a surge of migrants from there, with many of them going to Springfield since there already was a number of Haitians there. But the city was not prepared for the surge, and the federal government has been slow providing resources and assistance.

That's the problem facing Springfield today. It's not Haitians eating pets or any of that crap, it's that the city needs money to help take care of the new migrants who've recently come to their town.
I can see this; Your analysis is the way to deal with problems. Fact based policy.

Right. So we have a massive exploding population of welfare cases. And taxpayers are footing the bill.

Is that smart or reasonable? No. Is it safe? Not if you need an ambulance, doctor or EMS and they are already overwhelmed, or if you are a cat, duck or goose.

I see nothing good about any of this and all of it is negative.

And what is your cookie cutter solution? $$$ MORE GOVERNMENT FUNDING $$$. More resources. More more more.

Thank goodness I am not footing the bills.

Are you a contractor for an $$$ NGO $$$ or maybe work for the UN? Asking for a friend.

Yes @JayBird @Maggiefortruth its ALL ABOUT the Benjamins.....

REVEALED - The charities making billions off of the border crisis (msn.com)

Nonprofit organizations are making billions of dollars from border crisis federal funding, with their CEOs are raking in as much as $1million in annual compensation.

Money that is being distributed amongst NGOs to help fund the migrant crisis at the border has raised red flags for Americans whose tax dollars are going into the pockets of the organizations' chief executives.

The most recent data to reveal the astronomical amounts of federal funding being funneled into NGOs is from 2022. The migrant crisis on the border has been continuously surging over the years - with 300,000 monthly border crossings at the end of 2023, up 50,000 from the highest monthly report in 2022.

According to the data, based on the 990 Tax Forms of organizations exempt from income taxes, nonprofits received billions of dollars in federal awards - which were then used to compensate CEOs and fund questionable services like pet therapy.

'The amount of taxpayer money they are getting is obscene,' Charles Marino, former adviser to Janet Napolitano, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security under Obama, said of the NGOs.
