Exactly. I don't want someone who believes crazy things "because I saw it on TV" as President of the United States. The President needs to be more careful, thoughtful, and have some critical thinking skills.

Trump got played last night. Harris kept baiting him and he took it every time. He looked old and easily manipulated.

Because of that I think the reason Trump agreed to ABC, Kamala's best friend, and what was very obviously a "home game" for Harris was to give her more confidence to lie with impunity. They will then turn those lies into the centerpiece of their ad strategy.

Trump lied throughout the debate and in some very, very bizarre ways. Of course the "Haitians eating pets" is going to generate a lot of headlines and mocking, but some of his others were just as weird, such as saying that all Democrats wanted Roe overturned.

He did about as poorly in that debate as can be. Apparently immediately after, the Harris campaign called for another one, which should give you a good indication of how it went.

For the debate last night, this is my take:

1.) Moderators ONLY fact-checked Trump. They did not point out Kamala's lies.
2.) Trump either lied or said a lot of misinformation. Perhaps the funniest was that Kamala wants to give operations to transgender imprisoned immigrants. I was laughing out loud... Took me out... but just because it's funny doesn't make it true.
3.) Kamala did better than I thought she would do. She did bait the heck out of Trump and Trump bit every... single... time. o_O
4.) Kamala deflected most of her questions and attacked Trump as if Trump was the incumbent. By doing so, she managed to weasel her way around one of her biggest weaknesses/failures, the border. The hosts didn't pressure her in the same way they did Trump in my opinion.

In terms of who won the debate from a technical point-of-view, I will give it to Kamala. When it comes to answering questions on their agenda (regardless of agreeing or disagreeing), I will give it to Trump. Trump did show composure by not constantly interrupting, now he needs to be trained on how to NOT take the bait. Lastly, I oppose Trump's view on NOT wanting to do an abortion ban and with funding IVF. I hope he reconsiders these things.

In all seriousness, when he said "yeah" when asked if his deportation plans would include police and even the military conducting door to door raids.

I don't know about others, but the idea of police and the military coming to my house and raiding it is not something I can ever, ever vote for. It's about as un-American as you can get.

Probably Trump's biggest mistake was not trying to appeal to a wider audience. All his remarks were the same old fear and conspiracy lines that have worked so well on his loyal followers. But he's already got them; he should've at least tried to appear sane to get more undecideds. I seriously doubt if illegals eating people's pets is the best way to do that. He's said before though he already has the votes, he doesn't need any more. So I guess he thinks it's in the bag.

Going into the debate about 3% of respondents to pollsters said they were undecided.

Once again, I highly doubt that the debate last night changed the opinion of someone who was already decided going into the debate.

The Trump Biden debate got 50 million views. That is down by 20 million from 2020 which had 70 million views. If we have 150 million people who will vote, and we get a third of them to watch this debate, then about a third of undecided watched the debate.

According to NY Times they polled undecided as to who won the debate and they did not agree with pundits that it was Harris.

So again, my point is simple, I don't believe anyone who went into the debate having already decided on Trump or Harris changed their mind. As for undecideds it probably split very close to 50/50.

That debate is not going to determine who wins this election. The economy and War will be the two biggest factors.

We'll definitely see over the next week or so. But right now, there's no doubt that the headlines, news cycle, and such are decidedly against Trump. His performance last night was epically bad.

See, this is the problem with most of the American electorate. They are completely misinformed about virtually everything. Mainly because you believe MSM lies, and complete and total slanting for democrats.

Yes, the majority of the electorate are misinformed and don't really care until they lose their job, can't afford their apartment or mortgage or they see that WW3 is starting. The economy and War are the two things that will wake them up. Like the saying goes, a conservative is simply a liberal who has been mugged.

For example:

– Kamala falsely claimed that «no U.S. military members… are currently serving in combat zones.»

That may not matter to some, but if you are in the military it will matter.

– Kamala falsely claimed she does not support government-controlled healthcare (she does).

Might be important to some.

– Kamala denied supporting a ban on fracking (she does) and the mandatory confiscation of firearms (she does).

Might be important to some

– Kamala said, «That’s not true» when President Trump pointed out her support for defunding the police, something she has repeatedly called for.

I bet the police are well aware of what she has said.

– Kamala denied raising money to bail out criminals during the «Summer of Love» in 2020, but her tweet is still up.

I bet this matters to victims of crime.

Frank Lunz: "After this debate, the Harris campaign will have little reason to do another one."

Erick Erickson: "Trump lost the debate and whining about the moderators doesn’t change it. He didn’t lose because of their behavior. He lost because of his own performance while his lips were moving, not theirs."

Fox News: “This has to be thought of as a collapse for Donald Trump. The two common things said were 'trainwreck' and 'he needs this to end.' He didn't seem like he was ready.”

He couldn't veto anything. He's not in office.

The reason he was against it was because it weakened current law and codified illegal immigration up to 5000 per day.

The increase in agents would only be used to process illegal immigrants more quickly; not interdict and detain.
