Sure. He was right about many things, but wrong about a few things.

Also keep in mind that the Ten Tribes were scattered all over the Middle East, so many Israelis could well have descended from them. A lot of European Jews would have descended from their forbears in Israel (tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi). When Jews went into the Diaspora after 70 AD, some would have traveled to Europe eventually and settled there (where they encountered persecution).

Even if they are not Jews ethnically (such as the Khazarians), once they embrace Judaism, they are regarded as fully Jews by other Jews.

Since the world was more centered around the Middle East back then, it made sense to put Israel where it is in the thick of things.

The Mediterranean Sea was surrounded by the nations that made up "the world" at that time (including Israel). So this is true.

That's what I started to understand as I read the Bible more. I asked questions about their acceptance and rejection of Jesus/ God.
Then I started asking things about how these people got there, who were they and how would they know their lineages when I didn't even find the names of my great great grandfathers. Everyone moves to a different part of the world and calls themselves an Israeli from the lineage of going back well over 2,000 years. That's some major historical record keeping that millions of people accomplished along with all of those ancestors.

There are no historical records, they were destroyed with the destruction of the second temple.

The current land known as Israel is a fraction of the territory promised to the Israelites. It's not even as much as was committed by Lord Balfour. British deception and double dealing saw to that (I'm English btw). Israel's greatest extent was during the reign of Solomon.

God's intent was that Israel should rule the world in a natural kingdom. Of course, He knew that Israel would fail to carry out the will of God. Jesus came to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will rule and reign from Jerusalem. God has not finished with Israel. Jesus was born a Jew. The church has been grafted in. One day, we will see the magnificence of God's plan and the wonder of His wisdom and power to fulfill His promises.

Some cultures take their lineage far more seriously than others. Jews are among those cultures. There are some genetic problems because Jews tend to marry Jews and so genetic disorders are passed on more often than more diverse nationalities.

It helps to remember that a Jew may be so because of conversion, not by race. Certainly the Nazis had little trouble determining who was a Jew and who was not.

While in captivity, God's people crossed over the Caucuses mountains into Europe and were called Caucasians and Anglo Saxons. They later migrated to the United States and Canada. The tribes of Israel have settled here. It's no accident that we are called "one nation under God" and our coins have "in God we trust" stamped on them. With God's blessing, America has grown into a very great country. Indeed, the Lord has given us a land flowing with milk and honey.

My question was posed rhetorically in agreement with your previous post.
His study Bible notes have had a lot of influence on evangelicalism and fundamentalism in spite of his background.

If I understand correctly, the Ashkenazis aren't ethnic Israeli descendants either. They are of European origins migrating to the land they are now in. Regardless, it is meaningless according to the NT.

Back in the OT the tribes of Israel and Judah were supposed to allow individual converts to integrate from foreign nations. However they were not to allow their children to intermarry strangers /foreigners who were not converts because they would lead their hearts away from God to worship devils.

It would be nice to see Christians today reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I'm interested in knowing what historical evidence you have for your statement. On the other hand, if your statement were correct, wouldn't there be stories about it in Native American culture. As it is, there are none. Are you a Mormon?

there is a plethora of reasons people can render. i can only guess. my guess: often, God teaches lessons by small amounts: 1.the mustard seed, 2. 2nd corinthians 8:15, 3. the woman who gave all she had which was 2 coins. & so, Israel, small in land mass, may be the equal lesson.

Do you mean North America? South America? The land presently occupied by the United States of America? The continental 48 states only?

Foot traffic takes a LONG time to traverse North America. Trans-Atlantic vessels were unknown circa 1300 BC. God had other plans. He began in the Middle East; why not continue there?
