This does look like it is people's perception of change as opposed to real change.
I respect Pew Research, I will take the time to review and investigate further and get back to you.

Here's the issue that these propagandists don't get. Conservatives that happen to support the idea of "making America great again" have been bashed since Trump said he was first running for president. We have been collectively called smelly Walmart people, basket of deplorables, uneducated, cultists, racists, Nazi's, white supremacists, terrorists and other things I can't print here. We have been mocked by Hollywood, the MSM, family and friends. And we come here expecting some calm, not propaganda and mocking. But newbies come in, one who is already following another newbie, nothing suspicious there, and here we go again. So frankly I'm sick of putting up with people who SWEAR they are lefties but come in and argue with every talking point a leftist uses.
I don't want any false apologies from any of them. Just knock off the propaganda, and leave conservatives alone.

And that's wrong, but the Christian response to that isn't to do the same or worse back to them, but to forgive and be an example of God's grace and light unto the world.

I've never been much of one for political parties.
But they took the subjects I liked to talk about and made them political.

And so my latest look into the cesspool of politics....

It appears that two former DEMOCRAT presidential candidates have dumped the Democrats and joined forces with Trump?
Tulsi Gabbord was Vice Chair of the DNC. Meaning she has the Democrat's soft money purse strings.


What is going on?

This is concerning on many levels. Ideological differences?
Does anyone have any ideology anymore?

What in the world is going on?

IMO, it pales in comparison to Trump's own Vice President, Mike Pence, refusing to endorse or vote for him, along with about half of his former cabinet.

It's one thing for "former Dems" to switch allegiances, but it's something else entirely for a former President to have his own staff turn against him, including his Vice President.

There's that too.
But the "former Democrats" are not exactly people I would say that about.

A Kennedy? They are the literal heart of
The Democrat party. They are the dynasty. Where I can see it as a "black sheep" type deal but then he ran as a Democrat during the primary.

So did Tulsi Gabbard. She is the DNC Vice Chair because she did so well in 2016. She was slated to try again in 2028 against Kamala if Joe had continued. AS A DEMOCRAT. She had the purse strings for all the senators and HOR with soft money.

Neither of these are simply former Democrats. These were the senior leadership of the Democrats. Ones who shaped policy. (Aside from the super pacs)

This is a serious blow to the Democrats. To Join Trump is more than just quitting the Democrats. One I could say "whatever" to. But now two different people of senior leadership?

That's an abandoning of the ship....last one out drowns.
 
Now with RFK Jr. dropping out and supporting Trump it seems now more than ever a good time to support Trump and not give up that support. Trump has always had that sort of independent flair to him and I can see he fits much better the third party voters vision than Kamala. Trump constrained to serving his final term will also be interesting, I believe he will be a more pan-American President and be free of partisan constraints as is typically the case in some Presidents' second terms. Trump represents a short-term future that has certainty and certainty that even us lowly common Americans can find relief and growth even. The democrats on the other hand are risky, they took a big gamble flaunting democracy to foist Kamala up there. It shows the democrats are willing to gamble alot and shows their whole party has become corrupt out of control, they're not even serious about their criticism of Trump they just want to maintain their corrupt control and status quo and perilous ideologies. They represent a very uncertain future and what little is certain looks like a curse.

Well RFK Jr was never a Democratic Party leader and quite frankly, he's more than a little weird. So him supporting Trump isn't that significant IMO.

Gabbard is a bit of a mixed bag.

But IMO, all of that massively pales in comparison to Trump's own Vice President, who is a good Christian, refusing to support or vote for him. While different people have switched their political allegiances throughout history, has there ever been a case where a Vice President has refused to support his former boss' reelection bid? I can't think of one.

Plus almost half of Trump's former cabinet members refusing to endorse him is also unprecedented.

Yeah....Trump has an interview somewhere talking about that. I'm not political so I haven't seen it except in passing.

Apparently he and Pence had a falling out. Dunno over what exactly. But when Trump gets angry he is a bully and at a guess he crossed a line with what he said to Pence and Pence never forgave him. Kinda against the character he promotes publicly.

Trump has a huge ego. But it usually doesn't get in the way of his objectives because he somehow reigns it in.

It's kinda a weird thing about him. He's been this way ever since I've heard about him in the late 80's&early90's.

People see the ego and bullying and think that's all there is to him. And that's a mistake....an egregious one.

RFK is not an "outsider" lunatic of the Democratic Party....why you keep saying that is nuts and beyond me. He is from the Kennedy dynasty in politics. He wasn't given much of a chance at the Primary....he knows the rules and got angry and frustrated. Can't say as I blame him when Democrats lately have broken all of their own. Since Bernie Sanders got stabbed in the back they have done as a few pleased.

So your claims have to be completely wrong. RFK is totally a Democrat of a long line of democrats and once was leadership of the Democrats.

So...can not say that he is an outsider democrat.

Can't say the same about Tulsi Gabbord either.

The Democratic party is having a "come apart" with these two defections....unless someone has somehow hijacked the party to their own purposes. Then I could see this.

You are correct. I've been here for 30 years. I've seen how the woke virus has evolved.
The triggering moment started with Obama when he made it official. Because before him, it was unofficial.
With all the problems of the world in 2016 and the Iraq war, the most important thing that Obama chose to do, THE most important thing was Bathroom Legislation.
So that was made official almost 10 years ago.
So, if Trump wins, i can't wait for some prime time entertainment with journalists first of all, because he's going to make their heads spin and most importantly all the woke policies he's going to reverse, fire all the clowns like this guy and then we have positioned ourselves for a superb start with season 13.

It was over Jan 6, when Trump riled up his supporters against Pence, and then those Trump supporters stormed the Capitol chanting "Hang Mike Pence".

All Trump had to do was send a tweet standing up for his VP, and telling his mob to stop. He didn't do either.

So yeah, a President not doing anything to stop his followers from wanting to hang the Vice President will, in most cases, kinda make the VP a bit angry at the Pres.

If those two rather minor changes of mind are significant, what does that say about Trump's VP and almost half his cabinet turning against him?

Just yesterday over 200 former staffers from previous Republican Presidents and nominees came out against Trump and endorsed Harris.

Moderate Dems that are paying attention are leaving the party because of radicals, the policies and the people. That's the issue. Moderate Dems now have more in common with conservatives then their own party. RFK is correct. JFK was against abortion, he was a lifelong member of the NRA, he wouldn't be allowed in the Dem party either if he were alive today.

My bad, like a Mexican stand off up in here. The thing is all these radical things they are pushing here they have done in Europe already. And they are realizing they made big mistakes. They are changing back while radicals in America are still going whole hog. My father always says " A wise man learns from other peoples mistakes, any idiot learns from his own." We ought to learn from their mistakes and stop it now.
