2 Thessalonians ch. 2 teaches us that before we are gathered together to Jesus Christ, there will be the deception of Satan as the false Christ. Mark ch. 13 teaches us how to stand against him

Yes false Messiah's will come and decieve many.. I believe part of the end times great deception will be the Anti-christ fooling many people into believing he is the promised Messiah..

If I may ask you a question about how you are viewing this text... focusing in (first of all, for this question) on verses 1 and 2, what would you say Paul is conveying in verse 2?

IOW, what is the "false claim" that he is cautioning the Thessalonians about (in verse 2)?
How would you put it into your own words?
