I find staying active to be a challenge, and it is a fact that I said yes to going back to work because it would help me in that way. It sure does not hurt that I got a very good raise, reduced work week, a six hour day, and get treated very well. I was on the phone with my daughter for close to an hour and a half last night listening to her telling me about her workplace dynamics. After over ten years there, she feels like quitting, because she is undervalued and made to feel like she is at fault for things that are at best beyond her control and at worst the fault of the office manager who is scapegoating her. I was at my current job for 25 years before my then-boss admitted that I was better than he was at what we did. LOL. Some things just take time. And while I have a lot of spare time, I am otherwise not very motivated to walk out my door, so going for coffee on my days off and then walking to the corner store afterwards is quite an adventure for me LOL.
My stupid kids grew up and got jobs so I don't have anyone to stomp...whoops, play sports with.
