So dancing to rap music is "ghetto?" I suppose everything black is ghetto in your opinion.
Ah yes. Ignore everything else, take one line out of context, think you've proved a point. 🙄

You just exposed Harris to all 1 of her supporters on this site. Thanks for obfuscating and not expanding on what a "Black job" is. You win the internet for the day!
Still a valid point.
And I've been here since 2011 and have yet to see a thread, perhaps other than game threads, not get sidetracked. After a 1,000 plus posts you should know thar by now.

Oh my God.
Okay. Let me explain to you what "black jobs" means.

When talking to people about "getting paid under the table" it means that you're getting paid in cash. This term exists because illegals don't have documents and the owner of a business has to pay them in cash obviously because they have no papers.
They get paid very low and they do very hard and dirty jobs. Like cleaning toilets, scrubbing floors, cleaning the areas outside or doing minor construction jobs which involve hard labor with long hours and little pay.
"Getting paid under the table" is also something that college kids use (who are legal) when they work at pizza shops because they don't want to appear on taxes as earning money so they can get more government help with tuitions.
The owners of the businesses also have to do a little finessing around of their documents to show that they are paying people with check because if they get audited they can get fined for paying people with cash.
I know what this term getting paid under the table means. what I didn't know is that it was used during the interview with Trump. I did not hear this, hence it is irrelevant to my understanding of what was said or meant. Also your understanding of what illegal immigrants are doing is very much in error. There are many people willing to "scrub toilets" or "floors" or do "construction jobs". My sister has her own house cleaning business and she graduated from NYU.

The problem is not that people don't want jobs that involve cleaning, construction or manual labor. The problem is they don't want jobs that are not safe and following safety guidelines. Those guidelines cost money, lawsuits cost money, so businesses are hiring illegals because they can't sue and if they complain they can simply ship them back across the border.

You are simply perpetuating a lie fed to you by the MSM that the reason we bring in illegals is because there is no one in this country willing to do the dirty, menial jobs. That is a lie. Try and educate yourself.

Now, the term "black jobs" means exactly the above but with the background history of blacks in America being slaves who did all the lowest, dirtiest hardest jobs and got paid very little if none.

This is why the term "black jobs" is offensive.
Makes sense?
Perhaps, but it is not in usage since 1870. So let's talk about jobs that are still in usage:

There is a Warden of the Swans -- that is a real job in England, today. Also you have the "herb strewer", the Rouge Dragon Pursuivant, the Maltravers Herald Extraordinary, Yeoman of the Glass and China Pantry. Now these are jobs that are currently active since the year 2,000. So I'm sorry, but your attempt to convince me that Trump was referencing some obsolete term from 1870 is completely unconvincing, and frankly makes me wonder about you. If you don't think that he was referencing this obsolete term then this discussion is a huge waste of everyone's time. Either way a complete waste of time.

Rap music is popular culture among the youth of all ethnicities at this present time. In the same way, that rock music was popular youth culture. It would be no different than having say Kid Rock perform at the RNC event and head banging.

Vice presidential nominee JD Vance headbanging to kid rock at the RNC~~>>>

Yes it is. But, again, she only did that for a black audience. No one else. And people seem to be ignoring having a female rapper shaking her butt while performing on stage.
And this IS a thread where the topic is centered around race and politics.

He should have said that "Illegals are taking jobs from poor people".
This is another complete misunderstanding of the damage being done.

If you have an 18 year old kid, graduates from HS, and doesn't go to college, he can save going into debt to the tune of 240k or more. He gets a pick up truck and works construction while living at home. He can easily make $100 a day or $2,000 a month. If he spends $1,000 a month to buy tools as he needs them he can soon become more than a day laborer, he can become a contractor. By the time this kid is 22, the age others are graduating from college with 240k in debt and a useless degree this kid has a small contractor business going, a license, he is bonded, has insurance and can easily be making 100k a year. Since he has no debt to pay off and his expenses are very small since he is still living at home that is a very comfortable income for a single person. Add to this he knows how to fix up a house, has the tools and crew to do it, he can easily buy a foreclosed house for 150k and turn it into a very nice 350k house. Either he can live in that house or this can be his new business flipping houses.

The point is they aren't taking jobs from "poor people" they are short circuiting the path to success for many people.

This can apply to construction, mechanics, all kinds of possible careers. This isn't theoretical, I had a couple of neighbors that did this and by the time I have graduated from college they were building a small development of houses and had their own construction company.

Great point, there even has been some place commentators expressing their disapproval of this campaign decision. And would she be okay to have the Stallion perform to a mixed crowd?

Not trying to prove anything, it just seemed like kind of a bizarre thing to say. If you need context, here ya go:

"Harris went to Atlanta to speak, and started quoting black rappers and had a black female rapper do a song onstage while shaking her butt, yet no comments on that? She pandered to what she believed would sway a black audience. Not by discussing topics related to black people but by trying to act ghetto. And yet nothing about that. Huh..."

I saw your replies here but you seem a bit oblivious to the term "black jobs" which is why we're having this discussion.
I also said that me personally understood it as him addressing the audience. But, i also said that others did not perceive it that way because it came across as racist.
This is why we are discussing the English language now. We are no longer discussing Trump in relation to his meeting there.
Can you explain to me what "black jobs" means to you?
He seems to not be able to relate to your post by his response.😏

Listen, I don't care what the stats are. These people are coming here illegally. They are raping girls and women. They murdered a mother with five, I believe, children. Not that the number matters. They have no mother. And that is because people are in this country illegally. If the border wasn't wide open these people would still be alive. As Trump has said, the aren't sending their best. They shouldn't be here. They are taking minority jobs, but it doesn't matter. They are breaking the law, send them back. Period. Problem solved.
Everyone agrees that there are some immigrants, albeit in smaller quantities statistically than American-born, who do in fact murder, rape, etc... Assuming they came here legally, they are STILL less likely to commit murder than American-born though. This means that while they SHOULD NOT enter the country illegally, they aren't really more dangerous than the average American when we look at the Texas data.

If the illegals are taking away minority jobs, then doesn't it make sense that we target the people hiring illegal immigrants? Shouldn't we attack and vilify the employers who break the law and exploit illegal immigrants by paying them pennies on the dollar?

Take the above picture for an analogy. The man and boat represents the US. The bucket of water represents the illegal immigrants being deported. The unseen gaping hole in the boat are the Americans who hire illegal immigrants. The water shooting into the boat are the illegal immigrants that have overwhelmed the boat (US).

Does it make logical sense to you that we (the man in the cartoon) would focus all our attention on using the bucket to dump the water out... only for the same water to come back in through the hole in the boat? Wouldn't the smarter thing be to address the gaping hole in the boat and fixing it? This will stop additional water from penetrating and overwhelming the boat, wouldn't it? Once the gaping hole is plugged, then dumping the water out of the boat one bucket at a time makes sense.

And this is where he always gets into trouble. Mr Trump -- pause a moment -- and THINK before you speak. Millions are listening to every word you say, and you are surrounded by hostile enemies. Learn lessons from Sun Tzu.

Of course, if you compare Trump's words with Biden's whoppes and bumbling gaffes (and reading teleprompter instructions and instructions written on cards to guide him through his mumbling and bumbling) , there is no comparison. But the Leftist media never once exposed Biden for what he truly is. And now they are inventing Kamala Harris as the "savior" of the USA instead of exposing her (and Walz) for what they are -- dangerous enemy of America and the American people.
You are 100% correct.

Since you still are not very convinced with this expression (black jobs) then it simply comes down to numbers.
You and I didn't think that Trump was being racist, but some other black people thought that he was racist.
So you can go ahead and explain your ideology to them to convince them.
This is not very convincing to me by the way.
Also i know very well that people who clean are legals and have their own businesses, but the type of job in relation to classes of society is perceived as low, something that immigrants do or something that blacks used to do when they were slaves.
So, it comes down to numbers at this point since we have different understandings.

I know many black people, as I said, half my family is black. I know some who are not bothered at all by it and some that are, the difference between the two is always based on one thing, those that watch CNN and MSNBC like dutiful drones are offended, those that are not sitting in front of the idiot box are not.

If anyone is offended by this quote I would guess the reason is most likely because the MSM told them to be offended.

I will make a prediction, that is that Trump gets a higher percentage of black votes than any other Republican in the last hundred years. I would even think he has a very real chance of getting a higher percentage of Black votes than Kamala Harris.

A girl was tied up and raped as her boyfriend was tied up by an illegal. A girl was just raped and murdered by two illegals, and a woman was murdered leaving her children behind, also Laken Riley, who Biden couldn't remember her name. All these and more would be alive if illegals weren't allowed into the country. Stats don't matter because we don't know who is in the country illegally so you can't have stats.

You have sanctuary cities, ICE was put on ice, Dems do not care about illegals. They won't lift a finger to seek them out or do anything to employers. They won't even use the word illegal.

I know that you're harping a bit on the media propaganda here and there is some truth in that but it's not all of it.
This has cultural connotations first, not media connotations. Because this term existed in the early 90s when the media wasn't so polarized and CNN didn't exist with 24/7 programming.
So, these terms "black jobs" and "getting paid under the table" have cultural connotations which are related to illegal immigrants and black people.

Now, in regards to the actual conference at this meeting that Trump had, you can hear in the audience that people are laughing. So that means that they like the guy and they're not offended most likely.
I also know that a lot of blacks and Latinos support Trump not just because they tell me personally, but because it's also shown in the stats.

But i was simply discussing the term "black jobs" in this discussion that's all.
Thank you.

It's actually a terrible point. What one person does in another party that most Christians don't align with has nothing to do with what another person does in another party.

Using your logic, I should be able to get away with murdering whoever I want and if I get any pushback, I can just site Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Ghangis Khan, etc... and it would make my serial killer spree look small time. I think this point goes over your head unless you actually think we are mostly in support of Obama, Biden, Kamala, etc...

I just wanted to add, just because someone can be ignorant, doesn't mean they are necessarily a racist. I have misspoken and said some stupid things in my time. I'm not convinced Trump is a racist or I wouldn't even consider voting for him. However, I'm not running for president. I just wished he worded things better. He isn't doing himself any favors.
You’re considering voting for old man Trump?

I'm in a moral dilemma of voting for a 3rd party candidate or the lesser of two evils. During the primary, I was an advocate of DeSantis. The right doesn't want him right now. We probably disagree on this point, but I think Trump is the lesser evil. He is not my golden ox as many self-proclaiming Christians treat him. It's a difficult position to be in because the left hates you for not agreeing with them, and then the right hates you because you point out legitimate concerns/criticisms.

Even taking political platforms to the side for a second, I'm fundamentally against installing Kamala as the nominee. No one voted for her to be president. If Biden had stepped down when people on the left begged him to so they could have a Democratic primary, do you think Kamala would have won the nomination? Not even people on the left would deny she would have lost. The only way she could run against Trump is to have her installed. To my surprise, BLM even points this out.

I'm with you there. I might vote for Trump. I did the 3rd party thing the first time he ran though I haven't really thought of doing it again. I might just write in "America Repents." My state is so liberal my vote isn't likely to make any difference in the physical anyway, but taking a stand in the spirit can have power. Then again I might just get busy and forget, considering I'm sitting here next to my state primary ballot that was due yesterday. Whoops!

Interesting point that even BLM knows better on the Kamala-would-never have-gotten-elected-in-the-primary issue, by the way.

Yeah, a lot of people in USA make their vote with their residence.
Here's what i mean. If you live in partisan states, it doesn't matter if you vote for Mickey Mouse or for Donald Trump because the electoral college is going to override your choice. So it's pointless to vote for the president in partisan states. You vote only for local matters.
Since USA is divided in red and blue zones and a few swings states, then the swing states is where your vote counts and where you should or MUST absolutely vote.

People chose states based on their lifestyle. Since i don't want guns and want universal healthcare, I've been very happy in Massachusetts for close to 30 years.
If i wanted guns, i'd be moving to Texas probably.
