There have been various threads where such things are floated, though perhaps not in all seriousness... and there are definitely those who come here hoping to find some perfect God-ordained, match-made-in-heaven, but generally speaking, the Singles Forum is simply a place for fellowship free of the heat often found in Biblical discussions, or the complications found in family relationships. I feel it necessary to add that married people are also welcome to post here!

I've been here for 15 years and while I've never dated anyone from this site (though it is entirely possible, and even to marry, as others have said,) I HAVE found a lot of GREAT friends.
Over the years, I've met maybe 30 people from this site in person and while we haven't all kept in touch (life gets busy -- people come and go,) I DO keep in touch with a small group -- and have known some of them for over 10 years.
So I might not have found a boyfriend or husband from this site, but I've found REAL friends -- and we hope you will too!

Howdy and welcome to the forum.
I have seen people come here looking for a match, but they are always disappointed.
I have seen people come here looking for a place to hang out and chat, and occasionally they find a match!
My conclusion is, your best bet is to hang out and chat. Not to find a match, but just to hang out and chat. If you do find a match, bonus!

The regulars are all familiar with each other, and nothing has happened between anyone for a while now.
Most are also content being single and in no rush to find someone, and a few don't want to date/marry.
Also, from what I can tell most seem to be 40+.
It is a singles forum, but it's always centered more around singles support than meeting someone or match making.
Most who join the site with the intent of meeting someone don't stick around for long as they don't get responses from interested people. So, as others have mentioned, it's better to just hang out. Maybe you'll meet someone that way, maybe not.
