I base it out of a humble spirit. For the same bible says that God has NO RESPECT OF PERSONS. For you or anyone to think that makes our Father a liar.
It is with FEAR that I understand that I am no better than our brother Esau. It is with FEAR I understand that Jacob was no better than Esau as well! Does not the bible say that Jacob was chosen neither having done good OR evil SO THAT THE PURPOSE OF ELECTION MIGHT STAND? So then it is indeed not of any work, not what Esau did, not what Jacob did, not yours or my work. It is only in HE who calls us.

If the flesh profits nothing, then it is not the MAN Esau at all God hated. It is the type of thinking he REPRESENTED (spirit) which He hated.

Life is a gift. None of us asked to be here and in that, we are blameless. True salvation comes at the cross. At death, we are separated from a nature of sin and justified by the washing of regeneration. For perfect knowledge of the truth can only come by proof. And it is He who must remove our blindness for us to see. No matter how much we know, we only know in part.

Yes. Off-topic; I don't even want to start a rapture-debate here: takes too much time, and by and large, people don't listen to the Scripture; but, rather, hold dogmatically to whatever they were taught.

it is not WHAT saves you, but WHO:
God Saves through HIS grace whom HE wills by giving them a NEW heart that feels repentance and godly sorrow at their sin and TURNS from SIN and disobedience TOWARDS God and Confesses with their Mouth that Jesus Christ is LORD and SAVIOR who died on the cross for the remission of their sin and rose again in Glory and BELIEVES in their HEARTS that this is TRUE unto Salvation. Endures til the end after being baptized, cleansed, sanctified, taught and LEAD by the Holy Spirit. Walking in the good works that Christ saved them for.

someone recommended the sermons of Arthur Pink and I just started reading them but this came to mind while reading this thread and I thought I'd share it with you dan1el.

So widely has this dogma been proclaimed, and so comforting it is to the heart which is at enmity with God, we have little hope of convincing many of there error.
To tell the Christ-rejecter that God loves him is to cauterize his conscience as well as to afford him a sense of security in his sins. The fact is, the love of God is a truth for the saints only, and to present it to the enemies of God is to take the children's bread and to cast it to the dogs.

2What proof is this, that you speak of concerning the perfect knowledge of truth?

All of that sounds nice and all, but what of the countless people who's never even heard the name Jesus? To whom are they entrusted to? You work real hard to please God. Will you be upset if a person you knew put in NONE of the work you did and yet received the same reward as you?
Why would I bow my knee and confess that Jesus is the Christ if I already know I'm about to get tossed in the fire?

well we will start off with gettting rid of your false perception of me.
I do not speak of a false salvation doctrine.
That is the difference between the TRUE Gospel of Christ and many other world religions such as Islam, Buddhism, Vedanta Hinduism, Shinto, etc. Grace through Christ versus WORKS of an individual to be "righteous" enough for "Heaven" or the theory of "karma" or called "justice"
No I believe in God's MERCY AND GRACE but neither do I speak of a lictenious or Unitarian doctrine where people are OSAS or "all men are saved" thought patterns.
NO what I believe in is the NARROW Road as taught by Jesus through the words of the Bible, understood by the Grace and teachings of the HOLY SPIRIT.

we have these verses for they are considered a "law unto themselves" following the laws of God and being justified by their hearts for they will have been taught by angels His laws.

I don't work hard to please God. I just rejoice in His love and try really hard to share it with others. God is not pleased by my WORKS but by my FAITH in Him.
no I would not be upset if I was told I was unworthy of Heaven and was tossed in Hell for I know I deserve that judgement if it was not for God's Promise in JESUS imputed righteousness. There in lies my FAITH in JESUS Christ as my LORD and Savior and His promise of God's love and the Testimony of my spirit with unity of the HOly Spirit that tells me I am a child of God and can call our "Abba, Father"
why bow your knee? because you will not be given a choice. even the demons will bow and then be cast into Hell.

Salvation is not only belief that Jesus is the Son of God but only if HE is YOUR LORD and Savior. For even the demons proclaim the divinity of Jesus but they will still burn in Hell for all that.

And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.

Romans 8
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

dan1el, This is how I see a saved person. The Word says... All who live GODLY in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution..... All saved people live GODLY IN CHRIST.
This is it my friend, ALL who live GODLY are the ones IN CHRIST JESUS! One sin, just one sin, means there is still saving to be done... Jesus saves, that is why it is COMPLETE for ALL WHO LIVE GODLY IN HIM! All these people CANNOT sin, becasue one sin makes them UNGODLY!!!
This salvation in Christ Jesus is the only salvation, we will be recieving different bodies, but the glorious uncorruptible spirit that is in Christ Jesus, will remain BLAMELESS, becasue God sanctified them COMPLETELY AT REBIRTH.
The end of sanctification in this life is rebirth. The moment a soul committed his last sin, and Jesus washes him at the cross, Jesus allows that person to go through the blood to FATHER. Then that person in IN CHRIST JESUS. All saved souls is on the other side of the cross of Jesus. Tehy went through the blood and are now seperated from the world by the blood of Jesus! This seperation is called sanctification.
Saves people swopped their spirit for the Holy Spirit. God swopped their hearts with HIS HEART! The stony heart we once had that sinned, is replaced by a heart straight from God! The spirit Jesus cleansed with His blood is now replaced by HIS SPIRIT. And that si why the old Stony sinning guy, can no longer sin, becasue God made Chrsit Jesus the NEW creation in that guy.
Eze 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Israel there is two groups of people, Jesus refers to two groups right thru the Bible, and look at this...
2 Tim 3 :12 and 13.
12Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
It BEGINS with faith in Yeshua as being the Messiah, Son of God; and obedience to His Gospel/Truth. The Galatians DISOBEYED those Truths, and were cut off from Christ and salvation for it: all who reject faith in Him as the One and ONLY way to be "acceptable"/"just" before God (in stead of WORKS of the Law of Moses, or ANY "good works") are NOT saved. They do NOT have the grace of God -- whereby a man is saved.
Muslims, for instance are NOT saved. Buddhists are NOT saved. Hindus are NOT saved. ALL men are NOT saved -- not ALL; the Lord said VERY FEW enter eternal life. Do you recognize and acknowledge that as authoritative, or not? All men are NOT saved. Most men are damned, and WILL be damned.
