Autistic and Down Syndrome Palestinian Mauled to Death by IDF Dog

Mohammed Bhar, a 24-year-old Palestinian with Down syndrome and autism, was left for dead after being mauled by a combat dog of the Israel Defence Force (IDF) on July 3, during a raid on his family’s home in Shejaiya. His mother Nabila saw the animal attack him.

“The dog attacked him, biting his chest and then his hand. Mohammed didn’t speak, only muttering ‘No, no, no.’ The dog bit his arm and the blood was shed. I wanted to get to him but I couldn’t. No one could get to him, and he was patting the dog’s head saying, ‘enough my dear, enough.’ In the end, he relaxed his hand, and the dog started tearing at him while he was bleeding,” she told the BBC.

IDF soldiers locked Bhar in a separate room to allegedly treat his injuries and prohibited his family from seeing him. Soon after, they were forced to leave their home at gunpoint — without Bhar. During the raid, two of his brothers were arrested and have not been released yet.

A week later the family returned to their residence to find Bhar’s body.

People like to use the excuse that Israel only kills civilians because Hamas hides amongst the civilians. To those people, what excuse, if any, can you give for why they would allow a combat dog to shred an autistic down syndrome young man to death and then leave his body to rot only for the family to discover it a week later (after they are allowed back home)?

There is no excuse. But they don't look like they are living in poverty like we've been told.

It's crazy that you read a story of an autistic down syndrome kid petting a dog as he's being shredded to death, pleading with the dog to stop and afterwards, you say there isn't any excuse, your mind IMMEDIATELY jumps to "But they don't look like they are living in poverty like we've been told." I can't find any linkage of this story and whoever "they" are that are saying that Palestinians live in poverty. That's wild...

I get it. You don't like balanced reporting. You give an example of an incendiary act as though anyone would condone such an act. At the same time, we are told how oppressed the people of Gaza are and how it is an open air prison. Doesn't look like it to me.
No one condones senseless violence, but we do appreciate a balanced perspective.

"Balanced reporting"? This is a singular report. An example of balanced reporting would be investigating on if the young man, or anyone in the house, did something to warrant unleashing the dog to shred them to pieces.

What you're doing would be the equivalent of a report about the assassination attempt on Trump, and saying, "Political violence is wrong. But Trump was clearly lying when he lied and said he has about a 98% approval rating with Israelis."

How is it "balanced reporting" to call out something so unrelated to the report that there was an assassination attempt on Trump? Furthermore, why is the lie about Israeli job approval of Trump the next thing that comes to your mind? o_Oo_Oo_O It just sounds like a wild and desperate attempt to throw mud on Trump to somehow overshadow the fact someone tried assassinating him.

Palestinians have been creating fake videos of hurt children for so long now....I just don't believe anything they say anymore.

We're talking about actions in Gaza. And it's worth looking into why the IDF was at the residence in the first place. But it's also fair to evaluate the conditions on the ground are as we are pouring millions of dollars of aid into the region.

Every nation in the world has lied over and over again. I guess we shouldn't believe any report using that "logic"... or do we only disbelieve anything that makes us or our allies look bad?

"Balanced reporting"
Like how the IDF does not do indiscriminate attacks.

I don’t know if this video tells the truth or not, but Netanyahu is at any rate not making a good enough effort to end the war. He reminds me more and more about Putin who is also dependent on a war to keep him alive.

So your logic is that "everyone lies" as justification to actually believe this report?

Sorry....I'm not following that logic.

I know exactly what abuses that Israel is guilty of towards Palestinians and exactly what crimes against humanity the Palestinians are guilty of. And I can hold my nose and pick Israel over the Palestinians every single time.

The Palestinians started this and the last one,
and the one before that,
and the one before that,
and the one before that.

Ending the war isn't a goal. Destroying hamas and freeing any hostages and/or their bodies is the mission. When the mission is accomplished the war front in gaza will end. It would go faster if Israel didn't make painstaking efforts to minimize civilian casualties even though much of the population is complicit in one way or another in the horrible acts perpetrated against Israel that led to this war.

Pallywood. HAMAS propaganda.

They don't deserve children. They have children to use them in Jihad.
They throw their children in front of an army to shield themselves. That's not new. Then they film their children's body-parts
to emotionally manipulate the world.

Pray for them and trust that Jesus our saviour will receive the children in heaven.
But do not be deceived by demonic propaganda.

And then they will have to figure out what to do in the north where most had to flee due to bombing there.

Sorry....I'm not following that logic.
No, I exposed the gaping hole in your logic that because they supposedly lied numerous times you will not believe this report. I made no explanation or reasoning for why I do believe it. I could if you'd like after you acknowledge you failed at making it seem like I said that to express my reasoning FOR believing it.

As it relates to this incident, it doesn't matter who started it or not. Conceding the point that the Palestinians started everything, in what world is it justifiable to do this to the autistic and down syndrome Palestinian young man? If it's not justifiable, then let's leave it at that and try not to make qualifying statements to then TRY to justify it.

Love and hate are NOT polar opposites.

Apathy is the opposite of Love.
But
Jealousy and envy are Hate's enablers.

The Palestinians can get Apathy quite quickly....just leave to go BACK TO YOUR ANCESTRAL HOMES. WHICH IS NOT PALESTINE.

Yasser Arafat was from where?

They started the fight and couldn't finish it....in the USA we got a name for that....and it's not a positive name. The ancient Romans had an expression in a similar fashion...

A man boasting while putting on his armor is worthless while a man boasting while removing it is worthy.
