Did this police officer seriously think he would have a friendly chat with the assassin? For all we know they could have been buddies. Where was his firearm, and why was it not used immediately? Did he not know what his primary responsibility was?
What Trump must do immediately is hire his own team veterans loyal to him and capable of dealing with any threat. And they need to be constantly vigilant no matter what he does or where he goes. Then tell the Secret Service and police to stay home until the FBI's bogus long drawn out "investigation" takes place. I hope Trump has a smart group of advisers who will tell him exactly that.

The coverage of the incident is annoying.
The half truths, the conspiracy theories, and flat out lies by people trying to gain a larger voice on Social Media Networks is really annoying.
Yes, Trump was shot and grazed. People died. The gunman was killed along with people in the stands.
Trump went to play golf yesterday as always....apparently he is fine except for the fact that people were hurt because he was targeted.
I've put away SM and all news until the Truth can be discovered and then broadcast 400million times....along with crackpot conspiracy theories.
I've got much more important things to worry about than politicians and their wellbeing.

Yes, which is why I listen to Dan Bongino, a man I am familiar with and who understands how these security details work as well as this other expert. Apparently this should have been a kill shot, it would only take 9 weeks of training for a person to be at 90% likelihood of a kill shot.
Yes, these facts are important proving this was a very high profile assassination attempt. This means the entire world would scrutinize it which is why I rule out anyone who is not in charge of the investigation trying to pull this off. You have to be in charge of the security detail, the police, the SS, and the DOJ and any investigation that takes place afterwards. I don't believe Trump or his team could have been behind it nor do I believe an amateur could have pulled this off either. As we now know the SS was watching him for over 40 seconds prior to the shot. Nor do I believe the shot was supposed to miss. By all accounts Trump's popularity will skyrocket because of this, instead of looking at all the nasty things the left said and thinking "you shouldn't be doing that" we should wake up and realize "they did this". I now believe that Biden saying "put Trump in the crosshairs" was a coded message giving the go ahead on this. Why do you think everyone with common sense felt he had already lost the race and they needed someone else while he and his team seemed so certain they could win? Instead of assuming he was delusional it is more reasonable to think he knew something the others did not.

because we are POSITIVE Trump will be blamed.
The bias and animosity isn't unidirectional... and it's ridiculous to even consider that.
(Republicans weren't burning the country down in the summer of love, and republicans aren't jailing grandparents for strolling through open doors in the capital.)
This country has been intentionally torn apart and polarized, for several years, and when politicians who caused the division go around hypocritically calling for "sweetness and unity" right after an assassination attempt... it's just asinine.
Sweetness and unity are great things.
But to expect such a thing, in a country that's been intentionally devastated through vicious polarization... is unrealistic.

There is, however, a great opportunity for unity now.
I believe when Trump was first elected, he believed, very naively, that both parties would coalesce behind him and work together for the good of the country. This, of course, never materialized. But recent events have made this possible. There exists a very real opportunity for national healing. I don't believe Democrat leadership will follow this path, but I do believe the body politic may.
I pray this is what God is doing.
