4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

This is the key point. When you are making a decision on these issues are you realizing that you are a servant of the Lord and you will be judged for the actions you take? If you vote for Trump then you can be held accountable for the peace treaty he brokered with Israel and the UAE. Likewise if you voted for Biden you are accountable for the decision to pay for abortions worldwide and to make them legal right up until birth. Trump and Biden made it clear where they stood on these issues before you voted.

Isn't this the argument for the many who say it's best not to vote at all? Why polish the brass on a sinking ship? Christians are only to be proclaiming the Gospel to win people for the Kingdom and are not to be involved in politics. Etc...

No, this is the argument that says don't judge another man's servant, meaning your brother or sister. They will have to stand before the Lord, it is not your place to judge them.

Understood. But isn't being judged by the Lord for the way one votes part of the reason some say why vote, especially when it's pretty well accepted that it's always about voting for the lesser of two evils? So, the Lord obviously doesn't want us to vote for 1 evil or another but to only support that which is good.

The reasoning seems to flow well with what you say. So, why vote for one evil or another?

That is between you and the Lord, I think inaction will also be judged if the Lord told you to act.

So, there's no instruction from God's Word that would guide a Christian in the matter - it's all subjective and the Lord is telling some to vote and some not to vote?

Really, that is what you conclude? I have provided five verses here, not the entire Bible. There is plenty of instruction in the books of Moses and in the New Testament.

Jesus is the incarnate word. If you do not call Jesus Lord and listen to his voice then everything else is trivial. If you do and he directs you in one way or another then that also is what you should be listening to.

And with this in mind, with an understanding of world politics and politicians, should Christians vote?
Of course they should vote. Its part of one's obligation to weed the garden.
However, do not become so obsessed with political movements that they themselves are the weeds.

So Jesus voice apart from His written word is what we follow? Or Jesus' written Word like the verses you wrote is what we follow? Or is there supposed to be agreement between the written Word and the Spirit?

The way you explained the verse I quoted from your post, it really doesn't say anything about whether we vote or not. However, you used it as a catch-all to include voting.

OK, I follow you. But my question was at least two-fold: (1) is there any instruction that would tell us whether a Christian should or should not participate in the voting process - especially considering the vote is normally about the lesser of two evils?; (2) does the Lord tell some of us to vote and some of us not to vote - especially since we're also commanded to test the spirits because some of them are not of Him and are deceiving?

An interesting reason for your strong conclusion.

Second sentence aka Herodian.

Thanks.
