Something is seriously amiss with this story. Now a transcript of a phone call has been released to the media.

Apparently Cindy "forgot" that she asked Morris for 2 Million dollars over the phone; but "remembered" when she found out that Gateway released the transcript.... mmkay.

The media have also portrayed this as Morris attempting to "buy her silence"... but the actual quotes from the transcript have her being the one that approached him for money... he never says anything about wanting to buy her silence.

Moreover; they continue to say that he confessed/admitted to doing things to her while she was 12... which continues to be false; as far as I can tell, he has done no such thing.
"When I was in my early twenties, I was involved in inappropriate sexual behaviour with a young lady in a home where I was staying. It was kissing and petting and not intercourse, but it was wrong. This behaviour happened on several occasions over the next few years," Morris said in a statement to the Christian Post after Gateway Church was asked about the allegations.

Will this suffice as a confession, so because he states "young lady" that makes it okay.
She was 12, can you understand that?

No. It will not suffice; because he didn't say that that "young lady" was Cindy OR that all his "inappropriate behavior" was even all with the same person. I think the whole $2 million dollar blackmail thing wraps up the news of this story.

Why hasn't he been charged? Again, never heard of him.

They are on this thread, lol.

You know years ago when I was in ministry we (family) sang at this church in Canada. It was a really good night. The pastor asked us over to his house for a meal, not unusual. But when I got into the backseat of his car he made a comment to me that I felt was inappropriate. I wasn't underage, but I was young. When we got to his house his wife showed my parents through the house and I stayed in the living room. He walked over and made another comment. I didn't feel comfortable about him at all and moved away from him the rest of the evening.

After we ate the subject came up about his secretary. He claimed that she was hitting on him and his wife was ready to tare her to bits, she said she was obsessed with her husband. I'm a big person to read between the lines but you didn't have to be overly bright to see what was coming. I never mentioned what he had said to me and forgot about it. Several years later my father said to me, remember pastor so and so. I said I did. He said " You won't guess what happened!!" I said " He left his wife and the church and took off with his secretary". rofl The look on my fathers face was priceless, like I hit with a book. "How did you know?!" I said " I had a hunch" ;) Someday I need to write a book on my experiences. lol

Sure could not tell you had ADD....I have a bit of (don't know what to call it actually) but all the labels in the cubboard have to face out and things have to be arranged 'just so'. Once in a while I try to just put something away and never mind the order of it but I literally have to go back and 'fix it'. Might have to do with childhood trauma. And other stuff. Something I can 'control' as opposed to being controlled. I think I took too much psych stuff in collage haha.
This is descriptive of OCD, and I have a touch of that also although my life is chaotic enough I can't tell exactly where manifests. And ADD sounds cooler than the explanation, if I put off anything I start then I never finish it, and I don't know what to call that. Does procrastination necessarily imply an event coming back to a project? Idk, perhaps the best description is 'flighty.' At any rate, that cc has held my interest this long speaks volumes for it and, more accurately, it speaks volume of my regard for the personalities that constitute the population here. For a while I frequented CBN's member forums but found cc when I followed the search engine's retrieval of a comment made by a member called Therapon, shortly before his subsequent going to rest until the resurrection. He had made aware his actual name, Skoffield, who founded Fish House Ministries and left writings and a few YouTube videos elaborating on his opinion of scripture. I couldn't find much I disagreed with, although my exposure to him was limited. He was in his late 80s, he reached 89 I think, I recall mention of his coming bday. So, I have 30something years to eventually take up his mantle, if I don't put it off too long.

well since I just do it with labels and knick knacks in the house, let's not label me as compulsive just yet. my desk is messy, so maybe I have split personality too?

don't talk to me about procrastination. my husband is the world's champion there. if it wasn't for me, I think he would still be deciding if he should have got up this am....bit of an exaggeration there

I've only been on Christian forums but for a good number of years. interesting way that you managed to find CC.

It became a recent issue for his church and RA simply reported it. So there is no need to get all worked up. I have no interest in this anyway, but it has been reported by all the media. You can simply ignore it. And calling people a bunch of hypocrites for discussing this makes you a hypocrite. Why did you even open this thread?
It isn’t about bringing it up now that’s the problem.

The OP in his hatred of Trump, is trying to somehow tie in what a Pastor did 40 yrs ago to President Trump, and by extension those who intend to vote for him.

The list of Pastors falling over sexual sin in particular is sickeningly long.

It appears that Tony Evans may be joining that group.

But let’s not lose sight of the motives behind this thread and it’s originator.

That brought me here, but it was the live chat that secured my interest, enough that I've remained after it crashed, waiting for it to resume. I probably wouldn't have very ventured much into any extensive involvement in the thread discussion if were for such event. I don't regret it though, I've adapted nicely. As Bruce Lee once advised, "Be water, my friend."

I never joined the chat although I was invited...some years back but it was pretty wild then. I have enough with the threads where you can think about an answer or even if you want to answer at all. I'm afraid I might have said 'shut up already' and been banned in live chat.

I remember someone writing about a woman in chat who said her animals would verbally speak to her...or something like that...and he was really up in the air about it...got himself banned...but I think the nutcase continued...at least for awhile.

It's always the native nuts that make it difficult for people to discuss in a way that represents a fair exchange. Not to mention the 'experts' who use this place as their official platform since any church they might have tried to use, sent them off with a fare thee well nutter and get some help.

The number of responses that deal with someone asking for proof or authenticity from someone making grandiose statements about what they believe and how they have 'studied' and would you like to have their notes that they put together while burning the midnight oil, are a little over the top. 'Because it's me and I studied' is not proof and besides you are just stupid anyway, is both funny and sad.

I don't know how many times I have been told to 'go read your Bible' or 'you are not saved' or 'that is not the correct interpretation. (In order to reach the right answer, you must slam together unrelated subjects and compress them to mean the same thing and ignore all scripture that does not lend itself to such endeavors.' )

I could go on but I am sure I don't have to. :giggle::coffee:

The beacon on a hill brings to mind a lighthouse which is intended to keep from shipwreck, and you emulate the light in darkness while standing still in the midst of a torrent of opinions that doesn't say it but sprays it.

What I do not understand is the Christian like RA up there so fully and consistently embracing lies and rejecting truth so consistently to seemingly embraces the enemies lies. There's a few here this way. They have TDS as bad as any of the pop left. It's embarrassing to read honestly.
The cult Is real.
