Does Putin want Trump to win the election?
Putin has said recently that Biden is better for Russia, because Biden is predictable (which he is). Biden's foreign policy playbook is wide open. Plus his economic policies are a disaster; which also works out for Russia and the BRICS block. The countries that Biden tries to alienate will rely more on Russia and give Putin more influence there. Biden will dump money into Ukraine to keep it on life support while our own economy limps forward and our own military can't make enlistment quotas under his administration. With Biden in power, the US will continue to be divided on Ukraine and fight over funding- dragging a war that is a lot more popular in Russia than is in the US.
On the other hand; Trump will try to force peace in Eastern Europe and reopen world trade; buff the US military and economy, and will make Russia's friends less reliable by making deals with them. This is not "bad" for Russia; but it makes things more complicated, and could turn bad for Russia later on, when and if neocons or liberal nuts ever take back control of the US government. As far as the Ukraine war goes; Trump can convince his supporters to back Ukraine if Russia refuses a reasonable peace treaty-
this scenario is bad for the whole world; but it is
really bad for Russia... and if Putin does sign a peace treaty, he can never expand into Ukraine again without facing massive consequences- wheras in the current situation under Biden, further expansion into Ukraine is still possible.
