Recently I overheard somebody talking in QUITE a disparaging manner about what somebody else was eating. To hear her talk, no REAL human would each such a thing.

So I thought I'd start this thread. It's kind of an audience participation thread. You answer the previous post's question, then pose a question of your own. The question is, "Would you eat...?"

...Where's the drumroll?

Oh well. The kickoff item is vienna sausages! Would you eat vienna sausages? Viennese don't claim them, meat never knew them and crackers are their best friends.

Now the next person to post in this thread answers yes or no, preferably with explanantion, then you ask your own "Would you eat...?" question.

Yes I'd eat them if I didn't read the ingredients and probably NO if I did read the ingredients.
Would you eat octopus? (if you have what did it taste like?) 🙏did I do this right, lol

I have, and I wouldn't. It was far too much like chewing on a strip of rubber. I seriously doubt my body got any nutrition at all from it.

And yes, you did it right. =^.^=

Would you ever eat a fast food burger? 100% beef - says so right on the box - but no mention what percentage is MEAT. It all 100% came from SOMEWHERE on the cow.

I have and in a pinch I would do so again, but I can make better burgers at home for less.

Ah, the eternal quandary of such threads. I expected it, but not this soon. What happens if two people didn't see each other's replies, and each posted a next question?

I will answer both.

Fish sauce - depends how it was made. If you're talking about Japanese vinegar sauce made from fish drippings - yeah, I'll try it. No bacteria can live in THAT! Never tried it before, but I'd give it a spin.

Rocky mountain oysters - Nyet. I just ate smoked oysters for a nighttime snack. Don't need no rocky mountain oysters. (And yes I know what they are.)

So the next question: Should I post two questions since I answered two?

Never had necco. Would you ever eat canned sardines? I like the big oval red cans from Asian supermarkets, not the small tins/cans.

I used to share vienna sausages with my dogs growing up. I still eat them sometimes by adding them in my Shin ramyun. I also add Spam sometimes.

The only thing I sometimes eat are Vienna sausages, only eat the chicken ones though, never tried octopus, but like calamari, and the thought of eating sardines makes me queasy.

By Tare Tare, do you mean that raw steak? I wouldn't be able to... The older I get, the less I like meat (so I wouldn't like most of the things people have mentioned here already,) and the sight of rare meat on a plate makes me a little bit... concerned. (Too many stories of worms and such, etc.)


I actually have 2 things to present to our intrepid audience.

1. Would You Eat -- Slice'And'Bake Cookies?




2. Would You Eat -- Souse? I don't just anyone for what they eat but I do marvel at the fact that they have much stronger stomachs than I do! As a teen, I worked in a deli and I was astonished whenever we sold some of this stuff:

I found some cans of skinless, boneless sardines and they were delicious! But I don't do the skin and bones, and sardines are too small to be worth picking at, and most brands don't bother removing skin and bones, so usually... No.

Souse, scrapple and similar products come from a time when real meat was way too expensive, so we got by the best we could on scraps blended and mashed together with a jelly to keep them in a loaf form. I'm glad we don't have to do that anymore... Although a lot of people do still eat bologna and hot dogs, which is basically the same thing, just pureed better.

The slice and bake cookies... Hmm... That's an interesting question. There's nothing really to object to about them, but I don't want to eat them because it's not worth the blood sugar to me. Diabetes runs in my family so I try to be careful. As much as I talk about sweets, I try to only eat them when they are exceptionally good. But yeah, if I didn't have to be careful I'd eat slice'n'bake.

Would you eat... mackerel? The smelliest of all canned fish, more odiferous than salmon, tuna and smoked oysters combined.

I'm eating some now, and thinking that it's probably a good thing I'm still single. If I were married there might be a lot of complaining going on right now.

If I'm having a sugar fit and nothing else is available, I could stand Necco wafers.

To me, they're pretty much like eating flavored chalk, but the chocolate ones aren't bad. If they had packs available of the all-chocolate disks, I might pick one up.

I know this might be a bit controversial (not that it's ever stopped me before) :D, but Would You Eat Cool Whip?

Cool Whip was the bane of my childhood.

My Mom is very health-conscious, so when she made us cakes or cupcakes to take to school, she always used Cool Whip because she saw it as a slightly less evil alternative to regular frosting.

Me, I just wanted a real buttercream frosting. :( Or at least Reddi Whip from a can.

What about you?
