Paul did not meet jesus nor his disciples, just knew the words he spoke and the old testament the book he wrote were powerful. The holy spirit gives many of us knowledge is that not just as important for every one as pauls words are? if we had every message given to somebody by the spirit and put them all together i wonder how many lives those gifts from the spirit could change. I guess the question is what makes pauls message to early followers more important than somebodies message today?

Paul was a prominent (and diligent, and hardworking) apostle, and he came along when the church was still in its infancy.
The letters he wrote were to churches he had a big part in establishing in different places. I'm not sure he ever imagined them being saved and read millenia later.
There was, however, a lot of wisdom in his letters. So we saved them for all Christians to read.
Work hard for God, be blessed with wisdom and insight, and use that wisdom and insight to benefit people, and someday your words may also be treasured and saved for future generations. Or maybe not. Time and chance happen to all.

How do you know that what you are learning spiritual is from God and not from an evil spirit?
Answer. One tests every message against what is in the bible.
We know that the bible is from God, equally we know that messages that tell us to ignore or go against the bible are not from God.

Paul (Saul) most certainly did meet Jesus.... he appeared to Saul on the road to Damascus. Jesus told Saul that he was to go and wait to be shown what he must do....
Paul was contemporary with the apostles, and had interactions with Peter (Cephas), James, John, and others....
From Paul's letter to the Galatians....
9 and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, [f]James and [g]Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right [h]hand of fellowship, so that we might go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. 10 They only asked us to remember the poor—the very thing I also was eager to do.

If you put together all the messages supposedly from the Holy Spirit given to everyone, what you would have is a big bowl of confusion soup. There's a reason God gave us His word and a reason why it is our absolute authority. It contains the complete revelation of the gospel of Christ from start to finish. We don't need extra-Biblical revelation; all we need is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
And for the record, as others have mentioned, Paul did meet some of the other Apostles.

Jesus was speaking primarily to the apostles at that point.
The Spirit does give us understanding (knowledge), and comfort, but does not bring to memory what Jesus said to us, because we did not walk the earth with him.
The word of God (scripture) gives us the words of Jesus now, and with the help of the Spirit, we understand them. The Spirit does not give us miraculous revelations... Jesus is still the authority, and final word.
