I'm no scientist but over the last decade where I live in Texas it was either raining so much/often that the water came bubbling up through the ground like springs(stopped after a day or so),,,then two or three years it just stops raining,,,then in the winter at times it drops down to 10 degrees(7 degrees about 3 years ago when I woke up that morning there was ice on the inside of our windows,lol) then just the complete opposite a high pressure sets up over us and it's 105 day after day for the whole summer. People may not believe it but the trees and animals sure do because the ''swing from one extreme to the other" is whats killing them(think just bought a plant at Walmart and it needs to be set outside to "harden off" before you transplant it),,, that's the killer in that plants,insects,people,animals can adjust to changes but only if it's gradual not if it happens fast(that's happening in Texas).
