In matt 28, Jesus said make disciples of all nation.

then he said to baptize THEM.

They are already saved..
Matt 28:18-20
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

So ,you say someone has to repent Then they must go out and find someone to give them a bath in water and wash them.
Dont you believe what Jesus said,?
That he must wash someone before they can take part with him?

John 13;8
“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

Or you believe any person can wash you .Even Adolf Hitler can baptise you in Jesus name .Correct?

If Adolf Hitler were to wash someone in Jesus name ,then they will be saved.Correct?
The word of God says,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38-39

Amen! In Matthew 28:19, we have here a command of Christ to go and make disciples of all nations, and baptize them. However, it does not say here that baptism is absolutely necessary for salvation. In verse 20, Jesus goes on to say, "and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Baptism and obeying everything Jesus has commanded "follows" having become disciples.

In Luke 7:29, we read - When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they justified God/acknowledged God's justice, (signified by) having been baptized with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God's purpose for themselves, (signified by) not having been baptized by John. Water baptism did not make them become disciples, but their decision to become disciples was signified in baptism.

No it does not

Many people recieved the spirit before they were water baptized.

so YOU have a problem.

Not to mention. John 3 15-18 destroys your concept..
The scriptures were in response to your misunderstanding in post 551 where you stated "spirit baptism. is automatic and happens the moment a person believes" Many believe this, but scripture reveals it is not true.

The Samaritans received the Holy Ghost/Spirit days after they believed. Acts 8:12-18

Paul received the Holy Ghost days after believing in Jesus. Acts 9:17-18

Paul asked people, "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" Acts 19:1-7

This concerns the covenant between God and Israel concerning land.

Not eternal salvation..

once again, Read the story of Jonah and Nineveh. Nineveh where gentiles,..they did not get circumcised. yet they will be in heaven and judged the circumcised who rejected God.

Sad

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And [o]those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?

They received the spirit just like the circumcised did. Before they got Baptized.

Nice try
The sequence does not matter. What matters is that both experiences take place since they are essential elements of the NT rebirth.

Not eternal salvation..
"And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee." Gen 17:2-7

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you." Gen 17:8-11

Repentance prompts belief.
Belief may translate to faith
faith translates to eternal salvation

Salvation promos Obedience
your trying to put the cart before the horse. Praise god not your works. He said it is finished. Not I did My part now you do yours
As stated previously, repentance is a willingness to turn from one's sin and seek God's righteousness.

Man does nothing more than believe the word and submit themselves to God's command to be water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sin. It is God who brings about the reality associated with His command.
Man administers water baptism, and so is the work of man.

Like the Pharisees and their laws. and the jews and circumcision, some people just can;t get out of their own way and just rely on God.. they must have a part and earn their salvation by doing something.

There is nothing that forbids the use of rhetorical rhetoric to teach in the Bible either. The question inherently implies that (Gentile) people had been forbade to receive water baptism, but it did nothing to deter their salvation.

Man administers water baptism, and so is the work of man.
Regardless of who administers it, water baptism is commanded by the Lord.

Its promises still apply.

For you to deny this command of the Lord is a sign of rebellion.

Do we try’s god and his promise or our own work

You can’t claim you trust God when your whole Gospel is full of works
Scripture reveals those who trust in Jesus believe and obey the word of truth. Obedience to the gospel message as recorded in Acts 2:38, 8:12-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-7, 17-18, 22:16 is exactly what Paul referenced in the Ephesian scripture below:

"In whom (Jesus) ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." Eph 1:13-14

Those who do not obey God are not relying on God.

1st Peter 3:21

The waters of baptism do that for you, not by washing away dirt from your skin but by presenting you through Jesus' resurrection before God with a clear conscience.

The rejection of the simple command of water baptism is a sign of a seared conscience.

Jesus washed us from our sins in His own blood.

Jesus suffered to sanctify the people by His own blood.

John 17:2-3~ You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him. Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent.:)
The blood is applied upon being buried with Jesus into His death wherein one's sin is destroyed. Man obeys God's command and God brings about the reality promised. Paul explains this in Romans 6.

You was Baptised by someone else.

Mathew 7
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

I bet these people were all water baptised.Notice Jesus never knew them. They never received the holy Ghost but they believe they do wonderful works in Jesus name.I bet they Baptised millions of people telling them your saved by the water, your saved.
They never said they were water baptized in the name of Jesus.

ok, Your trying to equate the anointing of the spirit. or the spirit coming into a person with the baptism of the spirit. a totally different event.

no wonder you are confused.
