I'm not personally into censorship for adults. I like allowing the marketplace to censor with it's choices.
In post 38 you explained what i call Tradition but you may not be aware of it.
There's nothing wrong with Tradition but don't expect universal agreement.
This is why you may disagree with the Catholic Church and some of their traditions.
Well some of their traditions aren't Biblical. To me this has always been America from what I've seen looking from the outside and now the inside.
In post 38 you also said "i don't see what the issue is".
So if you don't see, how can you even consider a different point of view?

I also have the opportunity to enjoy a few traditions from different areas of the world while rejecting other traditions.
Politics and Christianity are not the same... but they do overlap in places.
I just feel we should always think carefully about HOW that overlap best correlates with scripture.

Wouldn't disagree with you there. Things can be taken too far. But then too far for one may not be for another. The best idea is to pray about it, at least that's always worked for me. And I've always appreciated your posts and often learned from them. I appreciate you too as a brother in the Lord.
Trump is the one causing believers to conflate the Cross with the flag. He's the one who claims to be Christian, yet leads Christians away from Gods ways. They're the ones looking for a worldly savior.
No, because those who seek a political God are being lured away from the real Him. And I don't wish that on ANY brother or sister.
No. People approve or disaprove of all kinds of things with various forms of feedback...how they spend their money, what they click on, what they say and write. The saying...go woke, go broke...came through marketplace feedback of consumers not consuming products and services they find offensive.
To me, this appears to be a depiction of Jesus pulling back the flag to reveal Himself, God. And it also seems to me to be implying that, the US ever was "one" nation, it was when everyone had been united as 'one' under God, and I suppose it won't be again unless that happens but... it is all too obvious that it isn't so indivisible....and this may be because the us is in fact not actually "one"... that's just how I see it.
And, that the US is obviously not "one" would seem to imply that it is neither "under God" even though Jesus, died, was buried and rose again in order that we could be one... maybe I'm thinking too much into it there but that's what art is intended to do, I think, cause you to think about how you should interpret it as much as we should think about how to interpret a writing. And, not that I always do but, I like to start with one of the communications when attempting to interpret such things, the rule of charity which thinks the best when the message isn't so clear.

Relative to the discussion up to my posting. It has made me wonder at the thought of having two of the best candidates it would be like to have two of best candidates to choose from that'd make it hard who to decide which was the "lesser good". If only we had that problem.
People with good intentions make Biblical mistakes quite often. They often superimpose their own biases onto God as if He is in agreement with their thoughts.

That church at Corinth was an example of the most serious problems that he addressed.
We can't wrap Him in a national flag any more than depict Him as a Renaissance model. He is not compatible to man's ideals, nor should He be.
Isaiah 40 Describes what the LORD thinks,

It is manipulative because it creates a false connection.
It is connecting Jesus to patriotism and nationalism (flag) when while on earth He did not connect Himself to earthly power and government.
