Okay.. look .. I agree with a prayer to be saved. The example you posted is fine (although I would not condition any kind of behaviour or work in receiving eternal life). It's just that there are people who are deaf and blind who still believe without praying. How? By their inward conviction.
An outward action whether through sign language or some physical indication has a spiritual impact. You seriously don’t get that? Just having a thought and trying to work up your commitment or gumption and thinking that is enough is complete foolishness.

So again, anything close to the EXAMPLE I posted will have no effect and a person will go to Hell if they accidentally do not have enough conviction and belief? What about a young teen, who says they prayed it and want to be baptized. You’re saying that you would not allow them since there was no way to tell or judge their commitment, belief or conviction?
The young person is expressing what they belief internally so I would let them be baptised

How do you know if they believed enough or had enough conviction? Wouldn’t you tell them to not be baptized since it would be a physical action and would not be required? Would you further tell them that their belief and personal conviction are all they need and they should make no further action? You’re contradicting yourself.

The prayer is enough.

What prayer? How would you change the example that I included. You were clearly hesitant on every part of what I put, especially referring to Romans 10:9-10 and verse 13. What was it exactly that was causing you a problem? What have you used on the past? Having an example has worked for me and I’ve seen it work in leading people in prayer and getting saved. You and just about 95% f all the posters in this thread have expressed that it is not of God. What is it exactly that I’m missing? Teach me

This explains it well
He makes good points, even though his attitude is a little arrogant. In the instances he included, each of the persons verbalized I believe - the guy with Jesus, and the Eunuch both stated “I believe.” I think the guy in the video was against the word “prayer”.

Okay.. the example has the condition of surrendering as a behaviour. Surrendering would be fine.. if that meant surrendering by belief on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is purely believing on Jesus Christ for eternal life. That is it. No behaviour involved.. no work involved. Repent is a change of mind heart, from unbelief to belief.

Right, which is what I put, in essence, in my second post. But no one else will put out anything on how to be saved. Because they’re all scared, including this person. Yet I make a thread and all the sudden, everyone says if you pray that prayer you’re gonna go to Hell.
I quoted Jesus about being saved and made a testimony concerning that quote.
Don't say no one else put anything out because I did.

When I got saved, there was something in my mind about surrendering to Jesus that really caused my to have a big spiritual and salvation experience. I was never the same after it. I prayed the basic prayer several times that week and thought “This isn’t working.” But o decided to pray one more time and I felt myself saying “Jesus, I surrender myself to you, if you can do anything with me, go ahead.” And it was as if Jesus was in the room with me, and must’ve sat there in awe for at least 20 minutes just amazed and in awe of what I had done. Of course I went back to my old Baptist church very fired up and they didn’t know what to do with me. I got with our Youth director and we went out ministering and passing out tracks and talking to people. We even got a list from our CofC of all new people coming to town and we would meet up one night a week and go invite them to church and/or lead them to Jesus right there, which happened many times.

I think the guy on the video has an issue with prayer, which is just talking to God.

I guess I missed the thread you started. I probably should have used the “search” function.

Still about 95-100% had a problem with what I posted and the general consensus was that no person should do what I put. Several implied that it was grossly insufficient and a person who did it would go to Hell.

So I will take what criticism I have received and repost something that others feel is not from the devil.

You said no one put anything out .I put it in your thread .Don't you pay any attention to what is being posted in your own thread?

I thought you posted a thread, which is what I meant. I didn’t see one thread about how to get saved. I can see why now. Most everyone thought my example was completely Satanic and legalistic, and in no way even close to what a person should pray. Heck, the poster above basically said no one should pray, implying praying was of the devil.

Then you didn't say what you meant.

I quoted scripture and testified that it a true saying of Jesus because I experienced it myself.

You said everyone else is afraid to put anything out.
I did .

Yeah I know what you mean. I don't see anything wrong with praying a prayer.. as long as you are believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.

I used to go out sharing with Campus Crusade for Christ. Using the four spiritual laws booklet to lead people to Christ. That was an amazing experience, although later I have found their prayer for salvation to be a bit conditional on behaviour. Eg.. 'I now submit my life to Christ' . Well.. if that is meant as a continual submission of behaviour to Christ.. they are gonna fail in that later.

So only a prayer for salvation? Are you saying not to pray unless it’s for salvation?

My bad. Good Shiloh, I’m glad you agreed with my original post. Did you ever make a thread about salvation?
