How do you get saved?

You can't pray your way to salvation. Show me one instance in the bible where someone prayed to be saved or were told to pray that may be saved. If you haven't read and studied the book of Acts, the book of conversions, you should do that. You are off on left field at the moment, and if you've done yourself what you're suggesting to do here to be saved, you're in for a rude awakening someday when you open your eyes and find yourself in flames as did the rich man, in the story of the rich man and Lazarus. To be saved according to scripture, you must do the following
1. Believe
2. Confess your belief
3. Repent of your sins
4. Be baptized, totally immersed in water, for the remission of sins

I've reached my 10th anniversary at CC and I haven't saved anyone! Who do you think you are crashing in here trying to save more people than me! Ugh, so rude.
I wish that some of these posters would just come out and say:
- Your prayer’s wrong. Anyone who prays it will go to Hell
- Anyone who isn’t water baptized will go to Hell
- Anyone who hasn’t fully committed or fully repented, regardless of what they say, will go to Hell
- All persons who had a death bed conversion went to Hell because they weren’t water baptized.
- The thief on the cross went to Hell, because he wasn’t water baptized. Jesus lied.

Saying a “sinner’s prayer” to be saved is not in the Bible. It is a man made command. Do not be deceived.
In critical thinking, you look at ALL the evidence and then you draw a conclusion. That’s exactly what Psalms 119:160 says. It’s the “SUM” of God’s word that is truth. Also, you need book, chapter, and verse or in other words “authority” from God’s own Word for your faith and practice. Matthew 7 shows us a picture of judgement where “RELIGIOUS” people are going to be turned away because what they did and practiced in the name of religion was WITHOUT LAW—or God’s authority. For, example the sinners’s prayer; no authority from God for that.
From the Bible we find many scriptures that tell us what to do to be saved. Like, Matthew 28:18-19, where Jesus is giving the Great Commission”. He says to go into all the world and make disciples , BAPTIZING them…”. Mark 16:16 Jesus also said that FAITH and baptism equals salvation. Romans 10:10 says that CONFESSION is unto salvation AND we have an example of someone’s salvation where they “confessed” their faith in Christ before baptism in Acts 8:37. In Acts 2:38 the apostle Peter told the Jews to REPENT and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins.
Remember Psalms 119:160? We are to add it all together to get the SUM of God’s word which is how we get the “TRUTH.” So we see from the scriptures we are to BELIEVE, REPENT, CONFESS, and be BAPTISED for the
forgiveness of sins.
Every Bible example of conversion substantiates this. The Jews in Acts 2:38, the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8, Saul of Tarsus in Acts 9, Lydia in Acts 16 and the jailer in Acts 16. Just to name a few.
Acts 17:11 teaches us to search the scriptures to see if what is taught is true. Men teach many different things but put your trust in God’s Word. See how people in the New Testament were saved. If God saved them that way—you can be sure He will save you if you do what they did.

Wow, “critical thinking” that’s a very impressive term. Sounds like you’re a really smart guy. That’s good that you’re so intelligent and can think and figure out such abstract and critical thoughts. You even quoted some scripture. It’s amazing how at no point did you say “What about just crying out to Jesus?” Instead you alluded to requiring water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit as requirements for salvation. My prayer example was just that - an example. Simply crying out and asking Jesus to save you is enough. If we go by what you said, then everyone who has cried out to Jesus right before they died went to Hell, since they weren’t water baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit.
