CCP is upset over the new President of Taiwan....

BUT....
The real valuable bit of Taiwan is the people who live and work there....and they hate Mainland China. They aren't going to work for the Government...and would rather die if they can't live free.

Scorched Earth is their motto if it looks like they will lose any war with the Mainland. They will blow themselves up versus be dominated.

China doesn't get the concept...they have been communist so long its unfathomable for them.

And this sending of only ONE Aircraft carrier group? That's the lamest thing I've seen yet. They need to send 4. This is blatant theft....and the other nations can provide the rest.

Why?

I suspect if China attacks Taiwan you will see China take massive damages with their navy being sunk and massive damage to their infrastructure. If you blow up 3Gorges dam it will flood the entire Yangtze river basin where 500 million people live and which is the industrial heartland of China. The cost to China will exceed any prize they hope to win.

An amphibious landing is the hardest operation to pull off. Taiwan has been preparing for 70 years for this. They are dug in, they are trained and they have the weapons. Mainland China thinks they are so smart, they have tunneled across the Taiwan strait into a mountain in Taiwan with the plan of sending the invasion force through the tunnel. So the pretense of a Naval landing is a distraction. But Taiwan learned about the tunnel over six months ago. Surprise, CCP, Goliath is about to fall flat on his face.

I had no idea about the Taiwan Tunnel. It will be pretty difficult to complete, if Taiwan hasn't authorized it.

If your like me, you don't know much about Taiwan. Taiwan was originally a part of China, but was later ruled by Japan. After WWII, Japan gave Taiwan it's independence.

The Republic of China was a rogue state inside of Communist China. The CCP defeated the Republic of China, so the ROC were on the run, and ended up in Taiwan.

Well, that's what I gather. Now that China has grown in strength, it feels like Taiwan should come back under the rule of mainland China.

The U.S. seeing Taiwan as a valuable asset, has decided to support Taiwan, and give military aid. This goes against the wishes of China, and here we are.

China thinks the U.S. is aiding terrorist (ROC), the U.S. sees China as the aggressor, and wants China to acknowledge Taiwan's right as a independent country.

If you are like me you have lived in Taiwan for 8 years and you have family members living in Taiwan today.

You know that the people of Taiwan do not want to become part of the CCP, they see them as criminals, they saw what happened to Hong Kong when they were no longer under the British but under the CCP.

I hope Taiwan and China the best of luck. Maybe there is a peaceful solution, that will come, that is better than war?!?!

If shots are fired, that is gonna be a nasty dogfight, that I don't want any part of.

They were literally starving to death on the Island...because it was a penal colony Because they embraced Christianity and Free Market capitalism instead of atheism and communism. They were sent to Taiwan to die.

We, the USA sent humanitarian aide and tried to help them economically. CCP did NOT care one bit.
Now that Taiwan can outright purchase Mainland China...CCP cares all about "their" island. And the Chip fabs on it we refuse to sell to CCP...because the last time they had chip fabs they abused them to control the whole chip market...they were warned and grace extended for market abuses and did not care one bit. So we cut off them getting anymore chip fabs. (The ordeal cost the US and US businesses trillions of dollars)

So now since most of the global supply of chips are produced in Taiwan and Taiwan has immigration into Taiwan from other countries...unlike CCP....yeah....someone is upset about themselves looking so bad.

The Canadian State Is Euthanizing Its Poor and Disabled

"Canada boasts one of the world’s highest assisted-death rates, supposedly enabling the terminally ill to die with dignity. However, this suicide program increasingly resembles a dystopian replacement for care services, exchanging social welfare for euthanasia."

Taiwan can buy mainland China? I doubt that, but maybe you were trying to make a point?!?!

You don't want to mess with the ChiPs, that is for sure!

Why not keep U.S. businesses in the U.S.? People need jobs, but when you export jobs, and import goods, it makes for horrible trade imbalances. Sounds like U.S. businesses only care about profits, and not the best interests of the American general public.

Shocker I know!

Pillaging the U.S. economy, then sending the poor to die in war, sounds like a horrible business practice. China isn't perfect, I get that, but what is the measuring stick used to judge which country is right, or wrong?

As a civilian in global affairs, I feel like war directly or indirectly affects me, and if bombs ever were dropped over my head, I would at least like to know what the reason was.

Taiwan produces 70% of the global supply of computer chips....from memory to processing to bus chips....they are made in Taiwan. That's why Taiwan can buy the rest of China.

ALL American chip companies from Intel, NVIDIA, Micron, and Western Digital make chips in Taiwan.....because of the strong dollar versus weak Chinese yen. And Taiwan has a highly skilled labor pool ready, willing and able to make chips.

From Apple cell phones to Sony Playstation...all are made as a result of those chips. All telecom chips for switches and servers are made there. Sweden makes a few...so does the US. But it's nothing compared to what Taiwan makes and Micron and Intel just built new plants here in the US. (Arizona and Virginia) as well as expanded production in Taiwan. Sony and Panasonic get their chips made there...products are assembled elsewhere (Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea)

But every electronic gizmo has chips in it...and everyone uses a lot of electronics these days because they are inexpensive for what they do...we can make products without them but they would be three times the size and do half as much.

That's why Taiwan can buy Mainland China....also the Mainland China is essentially bankrupt. Trillions of bad debt bonds are out there that they have no hope of paying back. Their central bank has barely enough cash to operate on a daily basis.
Evergreen has defaulted on their bond payments (largest bond issuer in China). Once upon a time Evergreen's bonds were considered as good as cash for financial instruments (commercial paper) now they are worthless. And more bonds were issued using Evergreen bonds as collateral. Now none of them are worth anything. But people keep buying micro chips and paying cash. You obviously use one to discuss this with me.

War preparation in the West

"Europe has entered an intermediate stage of preparations for war against Russia as it is increasingly drawn into the armed conflict in Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Kossuth radio. He said he sees more signs every week that the EU and NATO are preparing for military operations.

The NATO leadership proposes to earmark $40 billion every year for military assistance to Ukraine, but Hungary will not participate in the effort unless there is a war in Europe, said the country's foreign minister, Peter Szijjarto."

US arms exports hit record high in fiscal 2023

"WASHINGTON, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Sales of U.S. military equipment to foreign governments in 2023 rose 16% to a record $238 billion, the U.S. State Department said on Monday, as countries sought to replenish stocks sent to Ukraine and prepare for major conflicts.

The figures underpin expectations of stronger sales for the likes of Lockheed Martin (LMT.N)
, opens new tab
, General Dynamics (GD.N), opens new tab and Northrop Grumman (NOC.N), opens new tab, whose shares are forecast to rise amid rising global instability."

"Ukraine has lost the war and President Volodymyr Zelensky is in a "desperate" state, while Russians on the other hand are comfortable with the current path of the conflict, former advisor to Pentagon chief and retired US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor said in an interview with Anders Abjorn on the latter's YouTube channel.

Responding to concerns that the war in Ukraine and the continued Western weapons assistance will lead to WW3, the Colonel criticized roles played by some Western NATO members, accusing them of escalating the fight through their actions."

"He warned that if Kiev received these missiles, "they are going to launch them at all possible locations," referring to the targeting of Russian soil, in attempts to "provoke a response that will drag the United States and the rest of NATO into a war with Russia."

"Giving this man [Zelenskyy] and his government such weapons" is an invitation to disaster."

Kremlin warns Washington of ‘fatal’ miscalculation to let Kyiv use U.S.-supplied weapons inside Russia

"Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Monday warned the U.S. against the potential “fatal consequences” of allowing Kyiv to deploy U.S.-supplied weapons against targets inside Russia.

“I would like to warn American leaders against miscalculations that could have fatal consequences. For some unknown reason, they underestimate the seriousness of the rebuff they may receive,” Ryabkov said, according to Google-translated comments on Tass.

Last week, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the White House had approved a Ukrainian request to deploy U.S.-supplied weapons against targets in some Russian territory."

"Now let the US and its allies feel the direct impact of the use of Russian weapons by third parties," he said, commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remark on the issue. "This could be anyone who considers Yankeeland as their enemy, regardless of their political beliefs or international recognition," Medvedev added.

"If the US is their enemy, then they are our friends," the Russian Security Council deputy chairman noted. "And let the use of Russian weapons in the so far unidentified ‘regions’ be as devastating as possible for their and our adversaries. Let ‘the sensitive facilities of countries providing weapons to Ukraine’ burn in hellfire, along with those who operate them," Medvedev said.

"As for us, we will rejoice in the successful strikes involving our weapons against our common enemies," he concluded.
