Please note everything I am saying is an educated guess, there is no "thus saith the Lord" here. Simply looking at the newspaper, the Bible, and making logical conclusions and interpretations. In my opinion what I am doing is no different than what a weatherman does, or a stock broker does, or someone studying the climate or any of a number of scientific prognostications. Also the value in this is the same. We want to know the weather ahead of time so we can act appropriately, even if we are not always right. Likewise with investments and a myriad of other decisions we make. Also, remember all those telling you that this is not going to happen this year are also making a prediction.
No one knows the day or the hour
This also is true and was repeated by Jesus several times. I believe the word of God should be taken literally when it is spoken in a literal sense and that would include this word. There are figurative words and I'll give an example of one from Hosea next. But the Lord was precise and never once did He say "no one knows the year or the season". Because of that I see a prohibition on trying to discern the day or the hour, but not on looking into the year. 2nd, Jesus rebuked the Jews because they did not know the time of their visitation. That word is equally the word of Jesus, it should be taken literally. In Revelation 3:3 Jesus rebuked Sardis and told them if they didn't watch they would not know the hour of His coming. That would not make sense if no one can know which then brings us back to the Lord's word. He never said "no one can know" He simply said "no one knows", present tense. For example, in a figurative word from the parable of the ten virgins they hear a midnight cry that the Bridegroom comes. So it is very reasonable to assume there will be an alarm prior to Jesus return that those who are paying attention will hear. That corresponds to Jesus word to Sardis to watch. So although the Bible does not tell us the day or the hour it does tell us signs to watch for and if we are watching things that others ignore we will pay close attention to. For example, during the Feast of Trumpets in 2014 we learned of two cows born with a 7 on their forehead. One was black and had a beautiful seven and the second one was red and had a very simple 7. To me that reminded me of Pharaoh's dream. The seven years did not start from the dream, he had to first get Joseph to interpret it and then set him up as prime minister, so to my mind this began in 2015. Seven years later was 2022 and that would be when the seven years of famine began. My point is that there are lot of signs like this that believers should be paying attention to.
The exact year of Jesus crucifixion was prophesied in the Bible
You can use Jeremiah to learn how long the time of exile in Babylon would be. That prophesy was based on the law in the Torah of giving the land a year of rest every seven years. Then in Daniel he saw that prior to the decree to return and began praying accordingly. Also, in Daniel you can use his prophecies to exactly predict the year of Jesus crucifixion. He does not tell you the day or the hour, but if you then listen to John the Baptist at the start of Jesus' ministry he says "behold the lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world". That was a strong word that Jesus would be sacrificed as a sin offering and certainly would make Passover the top candidate. If you then followed Jesus closely during the ministry you would have heard Him say He was going up to Jerusalem and would be crucified. Even if the word did not sink in then there were many other words spoken prior to the crucifixion where you would have known the day and the hour prior to it happening, if only a few hours before. We also believe that the Magi who saw the star in the heavens were taught by Daniel what the sign of Jesus' birth in Israel would be. You might have picked up on Simeon and Ana prophesying, etc. My point is that even though at it might have been hard to figure out when Jesus ministry would be from the book of Daniel alone, as you get closer and closer to the event you were given more and more clues. Signs in the heavens, prophesies, dreams, visions, etc.
In Hosea we are told that after 2 days Jesus will return.
6:1 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
You can interpret those two days as two thousand years. Interestingly it was exactly two years after the Baker (in the story of Joseph and Pharaoh) had been lifted up on a pole and his flesh eaten by the birds that Joseph is elevated to prime minister. The baker could refer to the Jewish rabbis, and being lifted up on a pole to the crucifixion of Jesus. They fed the jewish people bread, but Jesus warned us to beware of their leaven and they rejected Jesus exactly two thousand years prior to Jesus becoming Prime Minister. These are allegorical teachings, a mixture of literal and allegorical, but they are prophetic and every thing that has come into being has come into being through the word of God. Since Jesus crucifixion is so critical in Human history, the most pivotal event in all of human history, it is important to know when it took place. I think the evidence is strongest for 31 AD though there is dispute on this with people supporting 30AD to 33AD as possible years. However, I think that the destruction of the temple in 70AD should be 40 years later. I also disagree with Christianities date for Pentecost, I feel Pentecost was the feast of New Wine on the 8th of Av, and the temple was destroyed on the 9th of Av. The disciples began preaching the gospel that Jesus was the Christ on the 8th of Av 31AD and that was the first of 40 years with the 9th of Av in 70AD being the first day of the 40th year. I think that is very significant.
Therefore 2,000 years after Jesus ascension would be on Shavout (50 days prior to the 8th of Av) in 2031. We are told in Acts that we will see Jesus return just as He left and based on Hosea 6:2 and other allegorical prophecies I interpret that to be 2,000 years after He left. That is when I think the Jews will see Jesus return to the Mount of Olives in great glory at the end of the tribulation prior to Armageddon. That would mean that 2032 would be the start of the millennial reign and that appears to agree with the prophecy in the Psalms.
Now there are three different calendars here, the one we use today, the Hebrew one from Moses, and the idea that Rosh Hashanah is the start or head of the year for the whole world (Noah's calendar?). But despite all the confusion that creates I believe that the US will be judged by God in 2024. The ideal time would be the 9th of Av but that is simply speculation based on God's judgement for unbelief favoring that day. I realize some will want to know more about this, but this post is already long enough and I'll have to fill in more details in later posts.
