Why would one think Jeremiah didn't have a choice?
There's nothing in chapter 1 that says God forced Jeremiah.
Jeremiah is much like Moses in questioning God.
People who are forced are not ever allowed to question.
Did you have a choice when God made man live outside of time 🙂

Jeremiah 1
The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Who said there’s a problem?

You were the one that said that you can either be the elect to be saved or someone else who has free will to choose to be saved. This is what the thread is all about. Are you trying to back track now?

Sure. Everyone has free will, even the elect.
The Elect are those who do what God wants.
King Saul was God's choice when the people wanted a king and Saul did not do as God wanted.
Many people Elected by God ended up not doing God's Will.
Even the Elected Solomon stopped doing the Will of God with his wives.

Also check the entire tribe of Dan! Chosen as part of Israel, but by in the end, they're not even included in the 144,000 (12,000 from each tribe).

Right. There are some who God elected, but not all are elected. God loves both.

It's a wonderful thing to have this connection between You and Your Brother. He sounds like a great sounding board to talk to and feel the truth of scripture out with.
Yes. That is why I called him. We live far apart physically but spiritually, we are probably closer than a physical local.

This thread is not about Calvinism. Never was. It would be kind of you to take that conversation to another thread. It is also not about seeds or the BeeGees.

You seem to be deliberately trying to change the topic and that is really not a respectful thing to do.

Please stop.
Perhaps the problem on your thread is lack of direction on your part. You are asking about some crazy idea that some can't choose salvation because they are Elected and others can. I think everyone would agree this notion is hogwash.

So where are you trying to go with this? Maybe you should present other questions to guide the conversation or give your views upon the subject to spur on debate. After all, you are talking about Salvation (Soteriology), so you should not be surprised if it begins heading in multiple directions.

It's your thread --- Get on the tiller.

Nothing better than being close to our siblings especially when they're serving the same God :)

King Saul was not God's choice. He was the people's choice. David was God's choice. That's what it means that David was a man after God's heart.

God sent Samuel to Saul. So God chose which person who would be the king.
