I've been active on 40+ internet forums since 1997. It's been my experience
that quite a few people online are unable to recognize a satisfactory answer
to their questions because the answers weren't composed with words and
grammar of their own choosing. This difficulty has been especially true of
autistic folks due to the rather inflexible way their minds work.

Though often very intelligent, autistic people struggle with ambiguity. They
prefer that words have just one meaning instead of a variety of possible
meanings to choose from. Take for example the word "run". Webster's gives
a long, tedious list of possible uses for it; and when there are several ambiguous
words like that one in a sentence and/or a paragraph, autistic minds sometimes
feel as though their questions are being ignored.

Why did Jesus let Thomas touch him?
Christ had already ascended to the Father and was then back on earth to meet with the apostles. Thomas wanted proof that Christ really was alive. So the Lord offered Thomas the opportunity to touch Him. But the Bible does not say that Thomas actually did that. Seeing Jesus in reality was enough for Thomas. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. (John 20:29)

I am really struggling to understand this.
I attended this church ' Church of England' for about four years and they teach Jesus is only ascend to the Father after he spent 40 days on Earth after he was raised. This is wrong teaching? Many thanks for your help and patience 🥰

No, it's not wrong. The New Testament clearly teaches one ascension 40 days after the resurrection. To arrive at a belief that there was any other ascension, a person has to have a very vivid imagination.

This is what the Church of England says only one ascension after 40 days on the Earth.

Sorry to take if off the topic of this post but is it true... When Jesus is in the tomb he goes down into hell? The pastor at that church said he took hold of Adam and Eve and brought them back to life??? Is that true? If so where is it written that it happened?
I have to be honest when the pastor said this to me the first thing I thought was he has been watching way to many Marvel movies.

There are a couple of scriptures that suggest the Lord may have gone down to Hell after His death; but the part about Adam & Eve has no scriptural support at all that I'm aware of.

It does seem that Jesus ascended twice, otherwise He wouldn't have needed to tell Mary to tell His disciples anything if He was meeting them before ascending to Heaven.

Yes it is incorrect doctrine. Jesus told Mary Magdalene "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. , but go to My brothers and tell them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father; to My Gd and your God." John 19:17

But a little later Jesus appeared to the women on their way to Peter, and we are told in Matthew 28:9 "Jesus met them and said, 'Greetings.' And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshipped Him. So Jesus had ascended to the Father, as He had told Mary, and had been glorified, and had returned to earth.

Christ probably ascended to Heaven at least twice before His final ascension to Heaven prior to the day of Pentecost:

1. To present Himself to the Father and to sprinkle His blood on the Mercy Seat in the Heavenly Sanctuary: For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world [the end of the age] hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself... Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Heb 9:12; 24-26)

2. Then to take all the OT saints who were in Sheol/Hades to Heaven immediately after His resurrection: Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high [to Heaven], he led captivity captive, [the OT saints were captives in Hades] and gave gifts unto men. Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth [Sheol/Hades]? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. (Eph 4:8-10).
