Ok, but it says in John that the Jews were crying out that Jesus be taken away and crucified not just the religious teachers, and Ephesians 2 says that we all walked according to the prince and power of the air at some point. And we're all born into the same boat because of what Adam did (which had its origin in Satan). Also unless I'm missing something Jesus was talking to those who believed on him when he said this. I think we might start off as children of the devil.

. He spent his time walking all around teaching bad folks how they should live, and how they should act/think. He loved them, and wanted them to repent and become good folks. I also understand his Father wanted all folks to become good folks.
