But if you read Jesus made them specifically be able to see while the others could not.Weren't the disciples Jews? Other followers?

I was using romans 6: 23. for the wage of sin is deathYou might find it interesting to know that the word used by Paul (Greek) is agoridzo, a technical term that was actually used to describe the marketplace and specifically the slave market.
Romans 7:14 We were sold under sin. So, Jesus has released us from the slave market (as it were) and bondage from the devil who runs that slave market. We are bought with a price I Corinthians 6:20 and in I Corinthians 7:23 we again find we are bought with a price (the blood of Christ) and told to keep ourselves from becoming slaves of men.
That's the study I am currently doing on the meaning of the words used by Paul to describe all that salvation entails.
Yes, God the Holy Spirit wakes us because God the Father accepted God the Son's sacrifice on the cross. We are dead anyway. God wakes the dead, not Jesus.
Peter did not say one had to be baptized to get the Holy Spirit . Stop looking at a flawed english translation and study deeper/I posted what Jesus said and how they were confirmed by Peter. I personally said nothing. I posted what God and one of His Disciples said.
if this is true everyone who heard would trust GodHearing causes Faith.
They still knew the word. This is false because the Jews were blinded by God and deafened so they could not hear. Read Paul's explanation.

You don't read do you?if this is true everyone who heard would trust God
Hearing gives us the potential of faith. without hearing you will never have faith. but does not prove you will have it
They still knew the word. No! They were dead in their sins and had no spiritual ears with which to hear (understand)! Please read this passage very carefully. The context is the Pharisees' infamous confrontation with Jesus. I'll pick it up in v.23.
John 8:23-47
23 But he continued, "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins."
25 "Who are you?" they asked.
"Just what I have been claiming all along," Jesus replied. 26 "I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is reliable, and what I have heard from him I tell the world."
27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [the one I claim to be] and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." 30 Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him.
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
33 They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?"
34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father."
39 "Abraham is our father," they answered.
"If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40 As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41 You are doing the things your own father does."
"We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself."
42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are UNABLE to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
NIV
These Pharisees were very obviously self-deceived and Jesus exposes their deceitfulness. It's no wonder he told them that the devil is their real father! These Pharisees were of the serpent's seed (Gen 3:1`5)! The reason the Pharisees could not and would not hear is because they were not of the Woman's godly seed (Gen 3:15). As such, they did not belong to God! They were not his children because He never elected them to be such in eternity.
Jesus said they DID NOT UNDERSTAND IT.They still knew the word.
Just because they closed their ears to the truth, does nto mean they did not hear it
Romans one says they not only know. but they hide it themselves. But one needs ears to hear the gospel. How can the dead hear?
I know many jews who have come to christ. I know many gentiles who still reject christ.Only the Jews are deaf right now. The Gentiles have the chance to become joint-heirs.
I am a JEW who came to Christ like my Dad and Grandfather. He was the first to believe in Jesus in our yiddish circle.I know many jews who have come to christ. I know many gentiles who still reject christ.
Where did I say this?
No!
Repent, be Baptized, Receive the Holy Spirit said by Jesus is the "Process" that happens. Those are the "Works" being done by God when we Believe. Jesus even said in my 3 Verses I quoted of Him
16 Whoever believes
38 Whoever believes in me
We believe after WE HEAR the Gospel like Acts 10 shows.
And then Repentance, Baptism, receive Holy Spirit happen after we Believe.
But we can do none of that on our own and none of that happens from God until we first HEAR the Gospel.
dude, I hear perfectly fineYou don't read do you?
I said Faith comes by hearing Romans 10:17 and I also showed you can hear and stop your ears.
LEARN TO READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You just answered your own question, and in effecxt showed what I have been sayingJesus said they DID NOT UNDERSTAND IT.
Read the Bible before ever posting at me again.
That says nothing about doing those things to get the Holy Spirit. YOU literally read into that on your own doing.Peter did not say one had to be baptized to get the Holy Spirit . Stop looking at a flawed english translation and study deeper/
so not all jews are blind..I am a JEW who came to Christ like my Dad and Grandfather. He was the first to believe in Jesus in our yiddish circle.
If you did you would not be putting words into my post I never mentioned.dude, I hear perfectly fine
yes faith comes by hearing, But Hearing DOES NOT PRODUCE FAITH.
Stopping your ears does not mean you do not hear.. Thats YOUR opinion
Don't yell at me when you have a hearing problem yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe because you said get baptised, and recieve the HS after.. And used Peters words in acts as your proof. That says nothing about doing those things to get the Holy Spirit. YOU literally read into that on your own doing.
