Precious friend, is this not God's 3-Step Plan to prevent the "endless / fruitless
debates / arguments"?:
1) "...plant a seed..."
2) "...water the seed..."
3) "...God Gives the increase!" (1 Corinthians 3:6 AV)
If God Gives "no increase", then obey Him, as per Romans 16:17 AV:
"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause
divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which
ye have learned; and avoid them."

Yes we are to plant the seeds but it is how you do it that makes the difference. I am not against debates but there is a difference between a Godly debate and an arguing for the sake of arguing not all do this but many do and only do so to prove who is right not to learn and grow not to plant the seeds but to prove who is right and it never is settled most of the time
