where does scripture say the serpent was SatanGod already knew Satan had fell from Heaven and knew Satan would attack God's human creation. So God knew Satan was going to do this and why God, before creating Earth, chose Jesus to be Saviour. You keep forgetting SIN happened before Adam was created. And Sin was going to remain until Jesus defeated it.
The word God used for this particular snake with Eve is called Nāḥāš. Nāḥāš means fortune telling/divination, which that is what the serpent did when he told Eve, 5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as God, knowing good and evil.' < God even confirms that is what Satan did, Fortune told/Divinated Eve (22 And the LORD God said: 'Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil).where does scripture say the serpent was Satan
So long, and thanks for the fish.Correct! The answer is always 42.![]()
So how would you define "spiritually dead"?I do not consider the so-called spiritual dead do be a spiritual corpse as others might as much as I might consider it as a state of spiritual brain death, if you will. That is their brain is dead even if their body continues to function. And I do not believe it is that they cannot continue to in the activities of thinking but more that those must reach a designation of humility in the acknowledgement that they can do nothing, apart from God, to 'know' Him or to save themselves, though many would proudly suppose that they are 'just fine' seeing that their body yet functions.
Forty-two years.

well your capable of evil does that mean your satan. The word God used for this particular snake with Eve is called Nāḥāš. So God knew the snake was Evil, which is Satan, and used a term only used for snake defined as fortune telling/divination.
No other snake has been called this. So we know it is Satan by the word Nāḥāš.
And if you read Genesis 3, God uses the term "Nāḥāš" BEFORE Satan ever speaks to Eve.
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent "Nāḥāš" was more subtle...
So God is making it clear before the serpent speaks this is Satan.
I have spent a good deal of time clarifying my position. But given that you consider my communication skills to be deficient, what good would come from it? But having considered your assessment, I've decided to improve myself by working on my communication skills. But just on the off chance, albeit admittedly miniscule, that the problem may be on your end, perhaps you would look into improving your reading comprehension skills. Please clarify your belief then. Which part of my mirroring was wrong and why? I am trying to understand your actual beliefs. If you have communicated imperfectly, you have the option of clarifying.
You are making non biblical claims while I am using scripture with proofs and Hebrew words with specific definitions. Unfortunately, you are the only one swinging off a tree while I am standing on a solid rock foundation.well your capable of evil does that mean your satan.
Where swinging about in roundabouts here.
Lets swing from the apple tree.
I have scripture that shows satan fell after Adam and eve, not before. But for now I want to go back to original discussion.
So far we have Gone on numerous trips from the original suggestion.
Which is what did God want to know before the fall of man.

The difficulty for some is that they don't actually consider the definition nor can they apply the term to God because of the pejorative meaning they associate with unfairness.
Already ahead of you...to treat equally, even-handed. Does God deal everyone the same hand?Maybe you are the one who needs to look up the definition because being fair has nothing to do with treating all people the exact same way.

So do you think lying is a sin? Because Satan lied before Adam and Eve fell.
Genesis 3:4
Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
That's a straight up lie.
