I know what this group's about, but I've never understood what the "Indentity" part was supposed to mean. I've searched this but can't seem to find a good answer. Anyone know what it means?

Well as far as identity goes, it's generally based upon what you know about yourself.

But how do you identify if your Christian.

Hmmm lol do you really need to ask 😂

Dad, supervisor, cook, son, husband, friend, annoyance, dummy, and etc....
These are labels that others give us. (I've been all the above).

But the label you aspire to hold the most is what?

"Christian Identity (also known as Identity Christianity) is an interpretation of Christianity which advocates the belief that only Celtic and Germanic peoples, such as the Anglo-Saxon, Nordic nations, or people of the Aryan race and people of kindred blood, are the descendants of the ancient Israelites and are therefore God's 'chosen people.' " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Identity

Just to be clear I don't have anything to do with this group. I'm just curious about the origin of the name. Why would white supremacists choose this name? What does it have to do with their philosophy?

That all bulloney.

Identifying as a Christian is what one does when they become born again and they renew their mind to what God's Word teaches as they walk with Him having turned away from this world's ways of being and doing right which is garbage.

This does not mean we think we are the descendants of the ancient Israelites according to the flesh which is replacement theology and is in error.

A lot of people get born again and do not learn to identify as a Christian so they backslide into walking after the flesh and end up not going to Heaven. Very sad.

Okay, where did the name of this group come from? What were they trying to say by calling themselves that?

Why would white supremacists choose this name?
Perhaps to mislead Christians. They claim to be descendants of the lost tribes of Israel, but Hebrews cannot be identified as Caucasians, and vice versa.

The name of the thread is does anyone know, not let's speculate. I know people here can't resist speaking on things they don't know anything about, but I'm looking for someone who has knowledge of this group and where the name came from. Nothing personal, just making it known I don't intend to respond to any more speculation. If no one can answer the question definitively that's fine too; I'll just look elsewhere.

I thought this, perhaps it's a Zionist

Those who say unless you bless Isreal you will be cursed.

Only that was an old testament scripture.

God is not blessing Isreal at the moment, he's sent them into exile.

There also Christian Zionists who say the same thing, like saying Jerusalem belongs to the Jews and the Jews only

no in order to know you have to ask questions

You said does any know.

You should of stated I don't want speculation, before asking people if they know

Neither did you make what you wanted to know clear.

Why be condescending like this 🤔

The Christian Identity movement, characterized by beliefs in white supremacy and anti-Semitism, traces its roots back to British-Israelism. This movement sought to establish white Anglo-Saxons as the true chosen people of God, with the belief that the white inhabitants of the British Isles are the actual tribes of Israel. The formal articulation of these beliefs occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with the establishment of the British-Israel-World Federation in 1919

One of the key figures credited with coining the term "Christian Identity" and elaborating on racial and political theology was Wesley Swift, a Methodist minister who founded the Church of Jesus Christ—Christian. Swift's teachings rooted anti-Semitism in biblical justifications and promoted the idea that Jews were the literal spawn of Satan and Eve from the Garden of Eden

The Christian Identity movement emerged in the United States in the 1920s and 1930s as an offshoot of British Israelism. It advocates a racial interpretation of Christianity, asserting that European peoples are the descendants of ancient Israelites and God's chosen people. This movement is characterized by beliefs in racial segregation, opposition to interracial marriage, anti-Semitic views, and white supremacist ideologies

Overall, Christian Identity is a controversial and extremist movement that promotes divisive and discriminatory beliefs based on racial interpretations of Christianity. It has been widely criticized for its racist, anti-Semitic, and white supremacist ideologies.

Hope this answer your question.

Nope. Westley Swift is credited with coining the term. But why? What did he mean by "identity?"

Wesley Swift, a prominent figure in the Christian Identity movement, is credited with coining the term "Identity" to describe a new racial and political theology that blossomed from British-Israelism. The term "Identity" was intended to differentiate this theology from the understanding that Jesus was Jewish. Swift's central contribution to Christian Identity was rooting anti-Semitism in purportedly biblical justifications

In the context of Christian Identity, the term "identity" carries a complex meaning. It encompasses a belief system that advocates the idea that certain ethnic groups, particularly Celtic and Germanic peoples like Anglo-Saxons, are the descendants of ancient Israelites and therefore God's chosen people. This racial interpretation of Christianity asserts that these specific groups are predestined for salvation and are considered superior based on their lineage

Swift's theological teachings, rooted in white supremacy and anti-Semitism, aimed to legitimize racial segregation and oppose interracial marriage. The Christian Identity movement, which emerged as an offshoot of British Israelism, promotes beliefs that demonize Jews and uphold white supremacy. The term "Identity" in this context signifies a theological framework that intertwines religious racism and anti-Semitism to justify discriminatory ideologies

Therefore, Wesley Swift's use of the term "Identity" within the Christian Identity movement reflects a theological stance that emphasizes racial superiority, anti-Semitic views, and the belief in a chosen people based on specific ethnic backgrounds.

This should answer your question as to "why?"

oh ok so now your saying you know who it isn't about.

Surly if you know who it isn't about, or the reason why, then you must know something. 🤔

So instead of letting others suggest something, and then accuse them of speculation, why don't you tell us what you know.

By the way speculation is also a spec in your own eye 😋
