Howdy and welcome to the forum.

So what did you name a few? Did you give them traditional dog names like Spike and Bowser? Or did you give them people names like Maxwell and Bert?

Thank you, very pleased to be here! My fosters normally come with a name, if it doesn’t come from the previous owners then the Rescue will set it so that they don’t have duplicates. Now my own Goldens were named Jordan (Michael Jordan) Chloe - she was named by the breeder and I liked it so I kept it, and Murffy, he was a beautiful redheaded boy so I gave him a good Irish name. I had a little terrier which I named Miranda - I found her laying in the street outside my office when I worked for the District Attorney’s office. I brought her in and kept her under my desk until I left at the end of the day. I thought she needed a good legal name.

I was actually making a bad joke. You said to name a few, so I took it as though you were naming a few dogs. I do that a lot around here, making bad jokes. You'll get used to it. I hope. Most of them seem to get used to it.

I prefer people names too. I've never named a dog Fido in my life. Hugo, nancia, maxwell, spike, Carlisle... Just a few of the dogs and cats I have known.

Ahhh.. I didn’t catch that, I will have to keep a sharper eye on thee from now on! I have a warped sense of humor myself although my wit has softened and slowed over the decades.

That is wonderful that you open your home to dogs in need! Ha, I thought at first you said "Muffy" and I wondered how that was a good Irish name LOL. I have watched a lot of animal rescue type videos, especially on dogs, which are so amazing in how well they can recuperate and be restored to being a playful, trusting, obedient, and joyful soul after all the abuse and neglect they may have experienced/suffered. My closest sister is currently fostering her thirty third dog. That is counting the twenty one puppies that were born in her house from pregnant mamma doggies she had taken in at her eldest daughter's request (she manages a rescue shelter). And that is only from two litters!

Oh my! That is a lot to handle at once! I personally have not had any pregnant mammas as fosters. My Pastor posed the question to us, what breaks your heart? We need to live a life of service and since abuse and/or neglect of animals and children are those issues for me, I decided to help save as many dogs as I can. It is amazing what love, compassion, and routine can do for these furbabies. I have seen them completely turn around. I have one right now that was rescued from a hoarding situation with 107 dogs. He is a mess. He didn’t eat for two days. Didn’t go potty for five days. Doesn’t want me to touch him but he does not let me out of his sight. It’s going to be a long haul for him.

How is that little rescue doggie doing now? My sister eventually adopted the 33rd dog she was fostering .o_O.
Now she is fostering her 34th .:D. I went to sign up to volunteer for the SPCA in any capacity they would
have me, but you essentially have to sign away the rights to your life to do so!

Well, I am WAY outside your age range, so I don't think my interests would matter, but I'll throw this out there...

1. I am a man, and I don't just "identify" as one :D

2. I have myriad interests. Some of these are Stargazing/astronomy, science fiction TV/movies, 80s new wave rock, collecting vinyl records, videography, movies, museums, NYC sports teams, following current events, reading (history & political science; the occasional novel), road trips, being physically active, and more.

3. I love kawfee drinks. I would order a coffee drink, and some of my faves are cappuccino, mocha / caramel frappes, and my own café latté, which I make with Taster's Choice coffee, a sugar-free creamer, and sometimes a little Stevia and hazelnut flavoring.
