Thank you,
people received the spirit at the day of pentacost, and then had to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. And so I was. It Changed nothing (except my wet clothes), but HEY!! The Bible (and the Baptist denomination) said I should be.

people received the spirit at the day of pentacost, and then had to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.
Because they needed to have remission of sins in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
And because they needed to be resurrected in Jesus Christ.
So it's the spirit in you that baptises you in water.
And it's the spirit in the baptiser through laying on of hands that is a witness.
It's called being baptised in the holy spirit and water.
Jesus said a man can not enter the kingdom unless he be born of spirit and water.
Jesus calls you to testify for his kingdom![]()
it's common knowledge of every pastor I know in the UK and from the bible which I have already showed. Please show me the chapter and verse where it says that
people received the spirit at the day of pentacost, and then had to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.
yes have it your way.Correction: People received the spirit the evening of the ressurection as recorded at John 20:22. There's no record of them being Baptized.
They were "Endued (clothed) with POWER" at Pentecost - i.e. the Holy Spirit came ON them.
John the Baptist said that Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire.Is there such a baptism which is done without water?

I know you will probably reject this to, but anyhow, feel free to do so.Please provide Biblical proof for your understanding. "Common knowledge ", is not truth. Nor does it show ones understands what they are speaking about.
Thank you,

Thank you,
"And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. " John 20:22
OT prophets and some kings also had the Holy Spirit also given to them.
But none had the Spirit indwell them and take up permanent residence in them until Pentecost.
Jesus gave His Spirit before Pentecost to give them the needed strength to endure until Pentecost.
yes have it your way.And so I shall.

The effect of which is given in Luke 24:48 - Their UNDERSTANING WAS OPENED - the result of being indwelled by the Holy Spirit.
But only UPON THEM, not in them, since that NEVER happened until after the Ressurection. (John 14:17)
WRONG - Pentecost was when the Holy Spirit came UPON THEM. He was already IN them from John 20:22.
That's nothing more than a "Paradigmatic theological assumption" with no basis in fact. Cessationists teach that to ELIMINATE the "Second blessing" of Acts 2:4.
I agree. In fact, I believe water baptism served its purpose and now we have written doctrines and the completed Canon of scriptures to teach us what water baptism symbolized. The Church and being indwelt with the Holy Spirit was a brand new doctrine And water was a great teaching aid to illustrate the baptism of the Holy Spirit before the doctrines were written out for us.......If one wants to get wet nowadays, bring your trunks and take a swim also!Jesus wanted everyone baptized in the Spirit, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus knew they would be confused in the beginning, assuming He meant water baptism.
But, eventually... after having water baptized many (as he had done prior to the Church age) Peter "finally" caught on
that its about Spirit baptism, no longer water as they had always done on a regular basis.
Take note! Read how Peter let us know that he had forgotten about how Spirit was to replace "water" baptism!
He was first told about it in Acts 1:4-5 and had forgotten...
Acts 11:15-17“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
Yes! Many today are making the same kind of mistake that Peter had!
Its embarrassing for them, and many refuse to be corrected.
grace and peace .
