"Why do you keep far away, O Lord? Why are you not to be seen in times of trouble?" (Psalm 10:1)
I know what this verse means... just a bit...
Of course they can. As pointed out above, it's mental or physical. Our minds and bodies are frail and imperfect."Why do you keep far away, O Lord? Why are you not to be seen in times of trouble?" (Psalm 10:1)

Yes, it's true, but I mean a spiritual condition. The sensation of being far from God. Excuse my English; I surely could express better in Italian what I mean. Why not? Depression is a mental and/or physical ailment, not a spiritual one.
Very good answer. Thank you.How have you been Francesco?
So, you had to go to David huh?
In David, we see that he is human like us, with some qualities far worse than us, but he is communicating to God during all times, which is something that we should all do from the heart.
If you feel "depression" from the separation from God, take comfort in the Miracles from God which tell us that we are not alone here.
We don't know why sometimes we may not get a response from Prayer or a miracle in our personal lives, or we may get it into a way which we don't recognize during the journey but are able to recognize when we arrive at the destination.
But in large miracles throughout history, we know that God is undeniably here with us.
I've usually heard that being called "spiritual dryness." I think every Christian goes through that from time to time.Yes, it's true, but I mean a spiritual condition. The sensation of being far from God. Excuse my English; I surely could express better in Italian what I mean.
Might a believer experience depression?
As an Italian "spiritual dryness" is a new expression for me. ThanksI've usually heard that being called "spiritual dryness." I think every Christian goes through that from time to time.

It is certainly ok to long for our heavenly home. There is no friend like Jesus. "I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly rest on Jesus name." I will pray with you, dear precious friend.Yes, it's true, but I mean a spiritual condition. The sensation of being far from God. Yes it can happen especially to a Christian who is on the front of the line.
For example we have Elijah going into the desert after the great victory over the prophets of Baal
I Kings 19: 3 Elijah was afraid[a] and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, 4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” 5 Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep.
